The Rivals of Amziah King is officially in theaters everywhere! I spent the summer of 2023 working with an incredible crew and costume department that I absolutely adore. I had the privilege of being a first set costumer to a wildly talented and lovely cast—most of whom I grew up watching or whose work I love and respect as an adult. We put so much hard work and sweat into this (emphasis on sweat because 95% of it was filmed outdoors in the Alabama heat) and I hope everyone enjoys the film as much as we loved making it! and yes, the bees were real 🐝💛

First episode of DTF St. Louis dropped last night on @hbo. I had a small moment in it that did not make the final cut. And that is okay. What most people do not see is that this booking came during a very slow stretch for me last year. My casting and producing work was picking up quickly, but Atlanta was not the place to be as an actor the way it had been years prior. This job was one of those reminders to keep going. For any younger actors out there, this is part of the job. Stories evolve in the edit. Time gets tight. Moments get trimmed. It is rarely personal. Booking is the win. Being trusted to step onto that set is the win. Building relationships is the win. I have admired Steve Conrad’s writing for a long time, so getting to collaborate with him, see him work as a director and experience how kind and generous he is on set meant a lot. That matters more than a few seconds of screen time. And a necessary shoutout to @jameswhitaker_dop. This show is gorgeous. You can still see my face and my name in the credits. So go support the show! Grateful to my agent Susan at @stwtalent STW for the opportunity and to @chase68 for believing in me. That kind of support matters more than people realize. The edit is not yours to control. The work is. Stay encouraged.
