Wandering through Downtown Houston’s massive open-air gallery.

Standing at the corner of Caroline and Preston Street, this multi-story masterpiece forms part of the Big Art. Bigger Change. project curated by Street Art for Mankind.

On the right is Birds of No Nation by Shamsia Hassani, Afghanistan’s first female graffiti artist. Her work delves deep into migration, resilience, and human rights. Right beside it, the vibrant yellow mural by Adry del Rocío portrays freedom and hope taking flight. Downtown Houston isn't just concrete and glass—it’s a living canvas speaking to the world.

Whether celebrating Labor Day today, or honoring artists year-round from Manila to Seattle, huge respect goes out to the muralists putting in the heavy physical labor behind the scenes. Climbing ladders, handling spray cans, and transforming massive public walls takes endless energy, skill, and grit.
Grateful to stand alongside such incredible artists everywhere who pour their heart into turning raw concrete into living culture. 💥🎨

Houston, Texas. Street Art & Graffiti. Waking with power. Amazing mural from @adrydelrocio for @streetartmankind 2023. Fuck the patriarchy as this mural is breaking the glass ceiling. Oddly enough, my first adry was in Aruba, so was very excited to find this. Yes @urbanmuralhunter ...a fucking car! At least not blocking any of the art. 😈 #houstonmurals #urbanvibescommunity
