POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I would like to express my gratitude to MyIPO for organizing this event and inviting us to participate. As an activist and a member of the Malaysian CMO community, Karyawan, and 3PMuzik Malaysia, I attended to maximize this learning opportunity. It was a privilege to listen to the enlightening insights from the speakers, engage in meaningful Q&A regarding my concerns, and share my own thoughts and perspectives.

WIPO–SCAPR Mentorship Program Strengthens Collective Management of Music Performers’ Rights

MyIPO, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Societies’ Council for the Collective Management of Performers’ Rights (SCAPR), today organised the National Event to Launch the WIPO–SCAPR Mentorship Program for Managers of Collective Management Organizations Representing Music Performers at Menara MyIPO. The programme was officiated by YBrs. Puan Yusnieza Syarmila binti Yusoff, Director General of MyIPO.

WIPO–SCAPR Mentorship Program Strengthens Collective Management of Music Performers’ Rights

The programme serves as a strategic platform to strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of Collective Management Organizations (CMOs), particularly in the management of music performers’ rights. Discussions covered WIPO’s services in collective management, SCAPR’s roles and initiatives, good governance practices, technological challenges and current developments relating to performers’ rights. The programme also featured Mr. Michel Allain from WIPO, Ms. Ines de Nervo and Ms. Kyoko Kojima from SCAPR, and Ms. Fish Low from Recording Performers Malaysia (RPM).

The programme reflects MyIPO’s continued commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s copyright and related rights ecosystem, while enhancing the professionalism and capabilities of collective management to ensure that the rights and interests of music performers are managed more effectively.

SIAPA POTONG BAWANG NI?!! 🥹
Aku terpaksa mengaku…
Mata aku bertakung siot. 🥹

Sehingga acara seterusnya.

It is my pleasure to have been invited by @myipo_official to participate in this valuable stakeholder consultation session as part of the ongoing efforts to amend the Malaysian Copyright Act 1987 (Act 332).

Previously, I submitted a paper to MyIPO on AI-generated musical works, and I am pleased that its contents were taken into consideration. In this consultation, I will also be presenting additional proposals on other areas of the Act, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Malaysia's music industry, ensuring its continued relevance, and maximizing the benefits for its stakeholders and members.

Being part of @Persatuan3PM , I look forward to contributing to a more effective and future-ready copyright framework that supports creativity, innovation, and sustainable growth within the industry.

What an absolute pleasure to catch one of my favourite guitarists, @nickjohnstonmusic live at @sweeleemalaysia Flagship Lot 10 for his guitar clinic featuring @badcatamps

The sound was amazing (shoutout to @bigaproductions) and it was so nice to hear Nick play his music and answer a whole selection of great questions throughout the session.

Thank you @sweeleemalaysia @jobwong2cheng for inviting me to emcee the event, I am so blessed 🙌

Happy to catch up with friends old and new @edriehashim @adsamad @jayquek @haha_midi @itskaevy @dzaf.sound @dzaf.photo @sean.ooiws @yuen_no_discount @prasad41d for this event.
