Crosstown Sync’s Writing Camp is a 3-day creative + professional development experience powered by @crosstownarts 📝🎼

This programming helps songwriters make music, navigate the industry + get their music ready for sync and licensing opportunities.

over the weekend, we got hands-on experience with:
🎶 reimagining songs from the Crosstown catalogue 🎤 writing, producing + recording original music 🎧 songwriting, rehearsal, tracking + mixing sessions 💸 learning about music ownership, royalties + how to actually GET PAID ⏰ collaborating + creating toward real deadlines

and then we immediately got to put it all into practice!!!

ideas turned into lyrics, melodies + demos. people hopped on each other’s songs, vocals and ad-libs were flying, and the producers were LOCKED INNNN 🔥🔥🔥

by Sunday, we were all sitting together listening back to everything we created 🥹

Memphis has SO much creative talent, and having opportunities to develop your craft AND learn the business behind it is so important. @crosstownsync created a space for both, all led by the absolute best mentor, @cestheiii 💖

Mississippi songbird @singkirbysing brought a night of Southern soul to @bluenotela, turning Hollywood into something that felt a whole lot closer to her home.

Kirby moved through songs about love, heartbreak, grief, confidence, and power, wrapping it all in R&B, funk, and the unmistakable foundation of Southern gospel. Her voice carried both sweetness and conviction, and every song felt from the soul with deep spiritual roots.

Helping drive that spiritual soul was an all-Memphis band featuring @foreign_sinatra on keys and musical direction, @_strikerofficial on bass, @wavcaleb on guitar, @iamtredeaton on drums, @adubb901 on the trumpet, with @dollmccoy and @cocamarie3 on vocals (who both shined on their solos). Together, they gave the music the kind of pocket, warmth, and church-rooted soul that made the room feel less like a venue and more like a gathering.

By the end of the night, the sold-out crowd didn’t just leave entertained. They left full.
Full of music. Full of feeling. Full of the love Kirby poured into the room.
