Arctic Survival Expedition in Swedish Lapland -
we survived and made it back to civilization!

I set myself this challenge and couldn’t be happier I did. The experiences, the memories, the lessons learned out there.. it’s so hard to even put into words.

On skis with pulkas and with a husky sled, we moved through the wilderness. Through all kinds of weather. Crossing frozen lakes, forests, and endless white plains.

Every day followed a simple rhythm: find a camp spot, arrive tired, and get to work. Digging fire pits. Building a toilet with a view. Creating our own sleeping spots: just a hole in the snow (incredible that this actually works).

We learned how to make fire. Cooked on open flames (and in the smoke). Melted snow for drinking water.

Living outside 24/7, in the cold, sometimes extremely cold was wonderful. Everyday life and routines disappeared quickly.

Of course, there were tough moments: a sleeping bag too small, snow falling on your face while trying to sleep, waking up freezing in the middle of the night, that brutal moment in the morning - leaving the warmth of the “bed”, stepping into frozen clothes, trying to get warm again…

Everything takes time. Everything takes effort. Breakfast means making a fire. Melting snow. Or cutting through ice to reach water. Sitting in the smoke, cooking porridge over flames.

Personal hygiene? 9 days without a shower. Same clothes. Eating from the same dirty cup, still carrying traces of meals from all the days before. Does it matter? Weirdly not at all.

During the days we hiked, built quinzhees (snow shelters), adapted, and slowly became part of the environment and formed a team.

We experienced Lapland in a Sami-inspired way, moving through this frozen landscape. Not following reindeer, but following our incredible guides.

Untouched. Wild. Raw. The beauty out there is something else. What a privilege to experience this!

These photos are just from the first - days more to come tomorrow.
