Today I’m closing a chapter that has shaped so much of my life—not just as a previous board member, Team Manager, but as a football mom. And if I’m being truthful, it feels a little like saying goodbye to a piece of my heart.

When my son first put on a Thunder jersey, I thought this journey would be about watching him play a game. I never imagined it would become so much bigger than that. Somewhere along the way, this team became family. People would often ask me, “Which one is yours?”

I always answered the same way: “All of them.”

And I meant it every single time.I watched them grow into teammates, leaders, brothers, and young men. I celebrated their touchdowns, hurt for them after tough losses, worried when they were injured, and felt proud of them for things that never showed up on a scoreboard.

Because the truth is, it was never about the wins.

The trophies will collect dust someday. The records will eventually be forgotten. But the character these young men built, the friendships they formed, the lessons they learned about resilience, accountability, respect, and heart , that is what will last. To every player: thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Please know that you were seen, you were valued, and you were loved more than you probably realized. And to my son, thank you for sharing this journey with me. Watching you grow while watching so many others grow beside you has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. Football gave me a front-row seat to your story, but it also gave me dozens of other kiddos to cheer for, worry about, and love along the way.

So as this era comes to an end, I don’t feel gratitude because it’s over. I feel gratitude because it happened.Scarborough Thunder will always be more than a football organization to our family. It will always be a place where boys became brothers, where families became friends, and where my heart somehow grew big enough to hold an entire team.

Roll Thunder Roll. 🖤💙🏈

Congratulations to our U18 Colts who came out to @footballontario_ York ID Camp.

You represented yourselves well and we’re excited for how you’re developing into excellent student athletes. This squad is going to be something special this fall.
