What a week! It started strong on International Women’s Day as I joined 5 amazing athletes from cycling, running, strength, and dance for a candid conversation hosted by @rapha_newyork . We shared our experiences as women in movement and competitive sports, talking about the barriers to entry, the unseen dynamics that shape participation, and the ways we’re each reshaping these spaces.

The week wrapped up strong with my inaugural participation in @dstinc1913 22nd Annual Delta Days at the United Nations, where my Sorors and I attended the UN Commission on the Status of Women Forum. We collectively focused on the theme ONE DELTA. ONE MISSION: Renewing Hope and Advancing Justice for Women and Girls. Such an amazing experience!

As we continue to honor Women’s History Month, let’s keep the momentum for global gender equity going through both awareness and involvement ✨🔺🇺🇳🌍

I had the great privilege to moderate a discussion with accomplished athletes on International Women’s Day at the Rapha Clubhouse in SoHo, New York.

On our panel we had the voices and experience of a dancer, an ultramarathon, a cyclist, a runner and a Team USA triathlete.

We discussed what it was like for each women to get their start in their sport, what true inclusivity feels like, how our negative experiences have positively shaped our journey, the power and influence of community, the reality of perimenopause and women’s health issues in sport and the seeds of hope that we see growing to shape the future of women’s sports.

Thank you to my fellow athletes for sharing your journey of courage & resilience. I am confident your experience and words of wisdom will be the stepping stones for many on their journey. Thank you to all of the men and women who came out and contributed to this valuable conversation. You were an excellent audience! Thank you @rapha_newyork for hosting us and giving us the space to have opportunity to have this needed conversation.

I truly enjoyed being part of the panel at Rapha NY as they celebrated International Women’s Day. We had a dancer, a triathlete, a bike racer, an ultra runner and more, and each brought their own perspective and expertise to the discussion. Every approach from “I do it for the love of the sport” to “I’d chew broken glass if it would help me stomp the competition” was represented. (I’ll let you try to figure out which one is me.)

There has been progress but there’s still more to do. Medics, how about stocking tampons and pads? Race directors, have separate starts for the women. Men, support the women.

Now let’s make every day Women’s Day.

An incredible evening at Rapha New York celebrating International Women’s Day. The clubhouse was full for a powerful conversation with six extraordinary female athletes from cycling, running, strength, and dance.
