Important salon research was conducted 😂

Apparently not everyone was forced to square dance in middle school PE??

We polled people from California, New York, Illinois, and Michigan, and our extremely scientific findings suggest that California and private schools may have held onto this antiquated tradition the longest. 😂

So now we need a larger sample size.

Did YOU have to square dance in school?
Were you also scarred for life?
And most importantly, how many times has your ability to do-si-do helped you land a job as an adult?

Please report your state + square dance experience in the comments. 🤠

My coworkers = actual legends. 🤍

Amy is currently battling leukemia, or maybe leukemia is battling her, and somehow she still came in, saw me attempting to cut my own hair, and immediately took over. 😂✂️

But honestly, this feels bigger than just Amy.

Everyone who works here has a whole life happening outside these walls. Hard seasons. Family stuff. Big changes. Things our clients may never know about.

And yet they walk through the door, show up for their clients, make each other laugh, and apparently rescue their coworkers from questionable DIY haircuts.

It’s really easy to love the people you work with when you get to see how they show up for each other, even when life is asking a lot of them. 🤍

This place is special because of the people in it.

People ask me how I keep my hair this long and the answer is annoyingly boring: I trim it. Regularly. 😂 And some genetics ( thanks Dad 😉 ❤️)

If your goal is really long hair, you still have to cut it. Keeping up with a trim every 8–10 weeks helps stop the ends from splitting and breaking off faster than you can grow them.

And somehow, against all odds, I got a haircut this time that I did not give myself.

Growth. Literally and emotionally. 😂

Nothing says millennial-owned salon quite like spending an unreasonable amount of time debating whether something is cringe or cringey. 😂

We have mortgages. Some of us have children. And yet… this is the hill we’re prepared to die on.

For the record: cringe or cringey? 👇

It may still be summer… but the fall hair shift has officially started 🍂🤎

You don’t have to give up your blonde when the seasons change.

Adding dimension gives you that richer fall feel while keeping the brightness you love — with a softer, lower-maintenance grow out. ✨

Ready for your fall refresh?

Let’s find the right look for you. 🤎

That’s what makes this place special.

For our clients, we hope it’s somewhere you can exhale, feel seen, and leave a little more confident than when you walked in.

For the stylists who call this salon home, we hope it’s a place where you’re supported, inspired, and genuinely love coming to work.

At the end of the day, we’re in the people business.

Hair just happens to be our medium. 🤍

No words do justice to how humbled I am that this team and this salon made it 10 years with me owning and 30 years since @thevinocart started The Colour Room salon. Thank you to every stylist that has worked here and every client that trusted us for the last decade ♥️
