VOICES 2024

It happened!

Interviewing Dr. Nada Collins.

https://youtu.be/qfBN5u5C2v0?feature=shared

Dr. Nada Collins, innovative educator, lifelong learner and the Superintendent at Lincoln –The American International School of Buenos Aires-( known for encouraging their students to honor DIVERSITY), is participating today in VOICES.

Nada shares her story and talks about education, her school and about the following topics:

The importance of becoming part of a global community
Lifelong learning
Benefits of learning a foreign language

Nada could easily speak about global education and reflect on what means to be part of a global community since for her, this has become a lifestyle she has chosen. She believes that becoming Global Citizens broadens kids’ perspectives, helps them understand the world they live in and that this will aid students to potentially address issues such as climate change and poverty, among others.

She highlights that ‘Opportunities come from being part of a Global Community’ and, that children tend to develop skills such as networking and collaboration skills.

I personally understand we will all agree with her on something: connecting with people from all over the world will lead to our own ‘personal growth’ for we will be enriched by the diversity of thought and opinion.

Last but not least, she discusses a topic I love which is language learning. She effortlessly relates this subject to different sub topics such as culture, global education and lifelong learning. Nada also enumerates different advantages to acquiring a different language. Pros such as problem solving and creativity fostering.
‘Mastering another language will boost your self-esteem, self-confidence, will help you connect with different cultures and will certainly force you to become a lifelong learner’ she says. And, let me add something: why not shape you as a future leader?!

Thank you Nada, what a pleasure to have you!
