_ Moving images are a continuous illusion. Movement doesn‘t happen on the screen—it is born in the ”tear“ between frames. <The Tear Between Images> brings together six distinct artists whose visual languages collide and flow: •Anna Malina – Handmade paper remnants of memory •Aempatia – Surreal dreams blending analog and digital •Tai Mei – The vibrant restlessness of Taiwanese culture translated through glitch •Marta Timmer – Aesthetic decay walking the line between destruction and control •jonCates – Raw, noise-filled Dirty New Media •Ex Mortal – Distorted signal echoes from analog VHS hardware Carrying the physical debris of their mediums—paper textures, compression artifacts, and distorted noise—these images refuse to be passively ”played.“ Set within Huashan’s dual-screen structure, a deliberate gap remains between the two displays. Sometimes in harmony, sometimes in conflict, the exhibition hand the final ”cut“ back to you, the audience. _ 2026/07/25 - 09/06 The Tear Between Images

The Tear Between Images The moving image is beyond what it shows. The works here carry the tactile debris of their own making, the grain of paper, photographic ghosts, the jagged math of compression, and the raw hum of distorted signals. By exposing the "tear" usually hidden in the flicker between frames, this sequence across Huashan’s dual structures refuses to simply "play." Instead, it demands that the viewer bridge the void between screens, synthesizing a third, invisible work that exists only in the mind’s eye.
