Margarida Vaz de Carvalho, a PhD student from CIPER and SpertLab, was invited to NOVA Medical School to give a talk on sport psychology as part of the European Week of Sport.

Held on September 23, the session was part of a programme bringing different perspectives on sport and health to students. Margarida discussed sport psychology from both conventional and ecological perspectives, addressing attention, perception, decision-making, self-regulation, and the continuous interaction between the athlete and the performance environment.

Drawing on examples from her own research and practice, she also explored meditation as a tool for attentional regulation and the Constraints-Led Approach as a way of designing training environments that support adaptation.

The talk concluded by highlighting the importance of understanding health, well-being, and performance from an interdisciplinary perspective, rather than as separate dimensions of the athlete.

And just like that, we reached the final days of AA’26!

Days 3 and 4 were filled with trainings, plenaries, an Open Space Discussion and, of course, lots of moments shared together. From learning and exchanging ideas to making decisions for the future of EMSA, these days brought together everything that makes our General Assemblies so special.

After the official programme came the Post-GA City Tour, giving us one last chance to explore Lisbon, spend time together and enjoy the city before saying goodbye.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made AA’26 so memorable! Until the next one.

Day 2 of the Autumn Assembly 2026 was all about learning, connecting, and celebrating!
From engaging trainings to inspiring plenaries, the day was filled with new perspectives, meaningful discussions, and opportunities to grow together.

And as the day came to an end, we traded our training rooms for a night of celebration at our Gala! Dressed up and ready to enjoy the evening, we had the chance to experience a little bit of Portuguese culture and tradition, including the timeless sounds of Fado.

Stay tuned for more memories from AA’26!
