Not every short hair is breakage.

Nat, the owner of one of the ROBE salon stockists Aerial Studio - sent me this video after noticing how much new growth had become visible while her hair was being lifted and dried.
She's been using the Thickening shampoo for quite a while now, and all of the new growth was suddenly much easier to see.

New growth and breakage can look similar, especially around the hairline and crown.
The best clue is often at the end of the hair:

New growth will usually have a softer, tapered end and appear in varied lengths.

Breakage is more likely to look blunt or forked, and may group in areas exposed to repeated heat, tension or friction.

If the entire strand has come away from the scalp, look for a tiny bulb at one end - that generally indicates shedding rather than breakage.

Understanding what you’re actually seeing matters, because new growth doesn’t need to be “fixed”...and breakage requires a different kind of support.

Save this for the next time those shorter hairs catch your eye.

If you liked Reservoir Bitches then you might like this, it is much the same. Identical style, similar stories. Essentially a sequel. A modern feminist reinterpretation of the mythology of Medea. I’d almost recommend this more if you haven’t read Reservoir Bitches. It is very good, I just felt like I was reading the same thing again.
