found a new love for running🏃‍♀️🫶🏽 12 weeks. 20 women. 1 goal: to run our best 10K! 🤍

Before the #WithWomenWeRunPlus program, I was in a running slump and haven’t ran properly since before the pandemic. I was unhappy and I didn’t know how to break through the plateau on my own. So I joined @adidasrunners Manila where I took a leap of faith and applied for @withwomenwerunph (WWWR+) Season 3!! Not only did I get to run 10km for the first time and hit new PBs, but I gained a community of strong, empowered women to enjoy running with!!

BUT halfway through the program when I was already making great progress, a devastating knee injury forced me to slow down. I decided to keep moving my body in anyway that I can (upper body day, everyday 🤣) until I can run again. With the encouragement of my WWWR+ sisters, coaches, fam, and friends, I was able to get proper rest then get back up with modified workouts. And funnily enough, I guess focusing on my upper body strength helped a lot because my main weakness in running was my posture (s/o to @sky_jettt for always reminding me not to slouch HAHAHA).

On June 24, the day of the culminating 10k, I just wanted to be able to finish it. Constantly had to remind myself that this is not a race, this is MY best 10k. I surprised myself and ended up doing a clutch SUB-1 of 00:59:46 !!! 🥳

Thank you, thank you to the one and only Coach @nylahbautista, @sky_jettt @c.ekalcantara, and to the rest of the WWWR+ S1 and S2 sisters!!! Wouldn’t be here without you all! ☺️

Setting a new PR of 1:04:31 🩵
Nevermind that this was one of THE hardest run courses Ive ever ran on, nevermind that I had less than 4 hours sleep, mevermind that I was anxious before the race......what matters is that we ran those hills and we finished with our best times yet!!
@zetcuenca THANK YOU for pacing me, reminding me to breathe, encouraging me and pushing me to dig deep to keep running and to beat my time ❤️
All throughout the race, I never for once glanced at my watch because I trusted you....
I wouldn't have done this well without you. I appreciate you 😁

🩵 Grateful beyond words....
12 weeks of getting stronger and running better..together, it's been one incredible journey!! 🙂 all done in a bubble of love, laughter, encouragement and joy...thank you Coach @nylahbautista for believing in us and pushing us to dig deep...and to all my WWWR+ sisters, love,love,love you!!!
