“What’s A Jeanie?” @curatedbyyunek A starting introduction to the concept of a ‘jean beanie’ where we feature a collection of various hats made of denim. It all started a year ago as a commission, a UNIQUE request from a brother to another but as time grew, everyone would come to inquire about it and call it different. This brand isn’t to showcase originality but rather, authenticity. That is why we settled on the name, ‘YUNEK’, because that is something we are and always will be. Stitched In Time, a title that brings light to not only the style of crochet/knitwear but also the nostalgia of our past, and more specifically, our childhood. Expressed through their bright colors and soft fabric, they reminisce what it feels like to feel truly young through playing these games that they would in their childhood. They bring back the essence of how it felt to be free and innocent before eventually growing up, something that everyone will have to do. With this, we can only hope to bring a warm feeling to those around and remind them that youth is bliss and even then, that fun has no age. Like a big recess, the models will carry the same energy that we did when we were young–always running around and hiding from each other, playing hand games, and screaming about.
