For decades, Rotary International has worked toward a world free of polio. I’m incredibly proud to play a small part in that effort and support Rotary’s commitment to End Polio Now. One of my greatest passions is discovering new cultures, meeting people from all walks of life, and finding the connections that remind us how much we have in common. That spirit of connection is at the heart of service, too. Proud to be part of the Rotary Club of Granada Hills and its commitment to making a difference. 💜 #EndPolioNow #WorldPolioDay #Rotary #GranadaHillsRotary #ServiceAboveSelf PeopleOfAction

The Northwest Valley Chamber and Mayor Karen Bass kicked off the 24th Annual State of the Community on Friday with the signing of a phased-in merger plan with the North Valley Regional Chamber to form the North Valley Chamber of Commerce by the end of 2027. Presidents Ali Nowaid (Northwest Valley) and Andreas Farmakalidis (North Valley Regional) signed on behalf of both chambers, with Mayor Bass signing as a witness to the agreement. Held at Porter Valley Country Club, the annual luncheon brought together business and thought leaders to hear from a cross-section of public officials, including: Congressmember George Whitesides State Senator Caroline Menjivar State Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo LA County Sheriff Robert Luna LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath LAFD Fire Chief Jaime Moore LA Councilmember Bob Blumenfield John McKinney for City Attorney Marissa Roy for City Attorney Speakers addressed the recent tragedies in Northridge and Chatsworth, the current Bryson Fire response, developments in how the city and county address the homeless crisis, as well as city preparation for Valley-hosted Olympic events. The Valley remains a high target for federal ICE activity, with local officials regularly conducting surprise inspections of detainment facilities. Legislation protecting small businesses from predatory lending practices was also recently signed into law. The new "North Valley Chamber" will further grow and support the business communities in the north and western part of the San Fernando Valley, including Northridge, Porter Ranch, Chatsworth, Canoga Park and West Hills. #chamberofcommerce #newbeginnings #BusinessCommunity #sanfernandovalley #stateofthecommunity 📸 Photo credits by Jay Ross @jaysfstop

🎶 Today is Music Advocacy Day! 🎶 Music is more than entertainment. It is an economic driver, a source of innovation, a vital part of education, and an essential contributor to our creative economy. The North Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of protecting music creators, supporting intellectual property rights, and ensuring fair compensation in an era of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence. We encourage Congress to advance meaningful legislation, including the NO FAKES Act, TRAIN Act, and Protect Working Musicians Act, to safeguard artists, songwriters, musicians, and music industry professionals. 🎵 Supporting music means supporting jobs, small businesses, education, and the future of our creative economy. Together, let's ensure that innovation and economic growth never come at the expense of the people who create. #MusicAdvocacyDay #RecordingAcademy #NorthValleyChamber #MusicAdvocacy #ProtectMusicCreators CreativeEconomy SupportMusicians MusicEducation SmallBusiness

What an amazing event! Thank you to Michael Gates, Steve Hilton, and Jason Gibbs for joining us for our North Valley Chamber Town Hall! A big thank you to all the candidates and community leaders who attended, and especially to our local business owners and community members who came out, asked thoughtful questions, and participated in the conversation. Special thanks to Alexis Lopez, Patrick Gipson, Noune Gipson, Colleen King, Barclays Coffee and California MusicBox for helping make this event possible.
