Very few people enjoy rehearsing a talk out loud. Fewer still will admit it on stage.

Today, @coach_jfern gave his talk - The Future of Affiliate Ownership - at @affiliatecon this morning. Along the way, he confessed to spending some of his rehearsal calls with Myles doing small talk about the weather.

He’s in very good company. Chatting feels a great deal safer than standing up and saying it aloud.

But that’s where the work happens. Speaking your talk early, start to finish, is how you find the lines that don’t sound like you and arrive on the day having already said it many times over.

Fern did the rehearsals anyway, because he knew they’d be worth it. And the applause rather suggests he was right.

Congratulations, Fern, and thank you for the very honest words.

Myles is speaking later today on the Las Colinas Ballroom stage at 4:10pm. Do come and say hello.

Myles is here at @affiliatecon in Dallas this weekend, talking all things public speaking and finding your individual voice.

And apparently, making a case for tweed as the next big thing in CrossFit.

Join the movement!
