It’s more important than ever, that we amplify underrepresented voices, especially in spaces like the book community that are deemed apolitical and predominantly white.

With February being Black History Month, I wanted to specifically highlight black bookstagrammers you need to follow, who all make this community a better place. Go show them some love, and drop suggestions for more awesome folx! 🫶

✨The Books that Made Me✨

Y’all I am unwell after this trip down memory lane 😭

Honestly, going through these books explains SO much about my current reading taste… like apparently I have always enjoyed books that destroy me emotionally?? (Where the Red Fern Grows & Bridge to Terabithia traumatized me forreal) And my love of thrillers & the fantastical seems to also have started young (Where my Eragon/Twilight/Hunger Games babes at)???

As far as college goes …. We don’t need to discuss it. 😂

Anyways, this challenge was SO fun, thank you so much to @no.shelf.control.k for tagging me!!! Tagging a few others because I just loved doing this and want to see more 🫶🏼

❓QOTD: Do we have any books in common?! What was a book that ignited your love for reading?! A slide with a background photo of a bookshelf shelf featuring old books that are navy, grey, and tan, as well as a few red books. The title The Books That Made Me is written across the middle in three rows in white and is a mix of block letters and script lettering. At the bottom there are 3 cartoon graphics of white girls with blonde hair reading. The first graphic on the left is a little girl with rosy cheeks and a purple shirt, and is using an open book to fly, her fist is raised forward. The second graphic in the middle is a teenage aged girl wearing a pink plaid shirt and her hair in a pony tail, she sits with her legs underneath her and one arm resting on a pile of books and her other resting under her chin while she reads another book which lies open in her lap. The final graphic is a white faceless woman with blond hair pushed back by a pair of headphones that sits over her head, wearing a brown t-shirt and tan leggings and white socks with olive green toes; she sits with her legs in front of her holding an open olive green book.
