BGIAS Paris, it’s that time again🥹⭐️💐✨

Join BGIAS Paris Host, Aucéane Malonga, on September 26th from 10AM-11:30AM for a private guided tour of Emma Prempeh’s debut solo exhibition, The Domain of the Stranger, led by curator Brice Arsène Yonkeu.

About the Exhibition

Emma Prempeh’s practice has long been shaped by themes of belonging, temporality, and heritage—rooted in her Vincentian and Ghanaian ancestry—which feature prominently in her work. This exhibition marks the first time these two geographies intersect with a third: the British landscape of her London upbringing, now entering her paintings for the first time. Within this triangular dynamic, the artist also revisits her relationship with her father—a subject she had previously explored but set aside due to its emotional complexity. The result is not a synthesis of these legacies into a singular narrative of “home,” but rather a broader horizon: an exploration of the diasporic condition grounded in a metaphysical register—one that resists easy explanation and instead examines what can neither be named nor fully resolved.
