It’s been over three months since RHS Chelsea, but we are still so appreciative and proud of the Team, partners, suppliers, sub contractors and volunteers who helped to create the Gold-winning @killikandco ‘A Seed in Time’ Garden.

A huge thanks to @bloom.pr.uk for all their work with us on getting the message across, and also @tobypovall who volunteered for the build.

Every plant has a story.

Whether it’s a Mediterranean lavender, Japanese maple or a Persian Ironwood tree, understanding a plant’s origins can help us make better decisions in our gardens.

- What climate it prefers
- How much sun or shade it needs
- The type of soil it thrives in
- How much water it requires
- What role it plays in the landscape

When we understand a plant’s history and natural habitat, we can place it where it’s most likely to succeed, creating healthier gardens that require less maintenance and fewer resources.

Good planting design isn’t just about how a plant looks, it’s about understanding its needs and where it comes from.

Have you ever looked into the origins of the plants in your garden?

The @killikandco ‘A Seed in Time’ Garden at @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show 2026 was amazing.

Designed by Baz Grainger aka @thelandscapetailor and built by @landformuk this Gold Medal winner explored a simple but powerful idea: How can we create more by using less?

Inspired by the landscapes of East Anglia and the Norfolk Broads, the garden was designed as a calm, enduring family space shaped by water, weather, craft and long-term thinking.

At its heart was a living wetland. Rainwater was captured and guided into a central flood zone, where it could be stored, filtered and recirculated, creating movement, reflection and habitat while helping the garden respond to both heavy rainfall and periods of drought. A reminder that practical, climate-resilient design can still be beautiful.

Traditional craft also played an important role. The main seating area was framed by a contemporary structure finished with clay-based render, evoking the texture and feel of traditional straw-bale and cob building techniques used across East Anglia. Old ideas and craft thoughtfully reimagined for a changing world.

The planting brought together wetland, grassland and hedgerow influences, with fruit and nut trees, grasses and self-seeding plants creating a garden designed to evolve.

Plants including Sanguisorba tenuifolia ‘Alba’, Geum rivale, Angelica archangelica, ornamental grasses and Rosa ‘Paul’s Himalayan Musk’ were chosen for texture, movement, seasonal interest and biodiversity.

Perhaps what resonated with us most was the patience behind it. Gardens are not instant. They grow. They adapt. They mature. And like all good relationships with nature, they reward care over time.

Even after Chelsea, this garden’s story continues, with plans for relocation to a @centrepointuk project site in Kennington, creating an outdoor space supporting young people experiencing homelessness. A beautiful, thoughtful legacy.

A look back at the build for the RHS Chelsea Gold-medal winning @killikandco ‘A Seed in Time’ Garden, designed by @thelandscapetailor and built by Landform.

The Show may be over and the breakdown complete but the garden is being relocated in a new design for @centrepointuk – the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity.

Thanks to everyone who worked on this wonderful garden.

Behind every gold winning garden is a gold standard team and no better feeling than having them on your side, problem solving, working with you to realise your design and even make it better than you imagined. I had the greatest team on this garden and the gold medal is shared with every one of them!
