Black history month ✨ 30 years ago today history and black history was made ✨ As I was crowned the first black Miss Finland, it started a journey I never could’ve imagine. In both good and bad. It started from young girl who just dreamed about performing in different ways, dancing, modeling and walking on Miss Universe stage. She dreamed about happiness and being accepted. But instead she soon became fearful, people pleasing and very lost girl who tried to be strong and confident when being bullied and hated, and constantly answering questions about difficult topics like skin color, racism, growing up without a father, weight, body measurements and having a body that others didn’t.. I have come a long way from that 18 year old girl. No more people pleasing, no more answering to outrageous and violating questions, no more being mistreated and caring about peoples opinions. After 30 years, I’m proud. I’m proud of my brand, proud of what I have achieved, and what I am known of today. I’m proud that I can do things I love, and I can live more and more the way I have wanted for so long. 30 years, and counting❣️ #blackhistorymonth #30yearsago #missfinland #history #lolaodusoga
