Breakthroughs, Big Chicken and Mo Opportunities.

Giving @mothecomedian his well-deserved flowers! 💐✨

Had a brilliant time at the special preview and Q&A for the hit Netflix documentary Big Chicken: The Great Conspiracy.

Huge credit to @thetvcollective and the legendary @simonepennant MBE for hosting such an insightful evening, celebrating Mo’s incredible work and highlighting his tireless support for talent across our industry.

It was fantastic connecting with the powerhouse team behind the screen: 🎬

This time last month, I had the pleasure of presenting on AfroFilms Global and sharing our vision for scaling African films and breaking into new markets through advocacy, strategy, and collaboration at the NITV Summit during Nollywood Week in Paris ✨

A special thank you to Ijeoma once again. You continue to demonstrate what genuine support and collaboration look like without gatekeeping. Your consistency, openness, and commitment to uplifting others within the industry do not go unnoticed, and they are deeply appreciated 🤍

Moments like these remind me of the power of community and the importance of creating pathways for African stories to reach audiences around the world.

Excited for what’s ahead and for the continued growth of African storytelling on the global stage 🌍🎬

Another highlight moment from my time @berlinaletalents was when I sat down with Maskela Gabriel-Adams @maskelah_ of Afro Films Global @afrofilms_global at the European Film Market @efm_europeanfilmmarket

I walked away with a whole new understanding of how the industry works. From film representation, to Daniel Etim Effiong’s @etimeffiong “The Herd” showing at the market and more. This was a conversation full of gems.

If you’re a filmmaker watch the interview till the very end, there’s something for you! 😉

Thank you for your time @maskelah_ and we wish you all the very best! Follow @aj4short_ for more conversations and content like this 💛

Come with me to the @efm_europeanfilmmarket

The European Film Market at the 76th Berlinale brought together 12,500+ film professionals, 606 films, and buyers from across the globe, and one of the perks of being a @berlinaletalents Press was access to the market. @reena.moktann and I made the most of it.

This year, Morocco was the Country in Focus which comprised a full pavilion dedicated to showcasing the Moroccan film industry to the world. Impressive and well-deserved.

But the moment that got me? The African Corner at the EFM courtesy @nifsummit and @afrofilms_global a space for films from Africa and its Diaspora. I saw posters I recognised. Stories from home. In one of the biggest film markets on the planet.

Small corner for now. Africa is showing up and I believe this is just the beginning. I am hopeful next year, more African film entities will get stands at the market so the African representation increases!

An interview from that corner with @maskelah_ of the @afrofilms_global is coming very soon. Stay tuned for it.

🎬🌍 BRIXTON TO BERLIN. WE MADE IT.💥🔥

From the studios of International House, Brixton, to stages at the 76th Berlinale and AfroBerlin 2026. 🇩🇪

Three young filmmakers from our community just took their seats on a world panel alongside Djimon Hounsou, international producers, directors and diaspora storytellers from across the globe. 🌎🌎

Archie Price Nicholson. Matidra Erinle. Dalila MacFarlane-Martin.🔥🔥🔥

These are young people who came through The Brixton Film Festival 2024 and 2025 ... And now? They're in Berlin, at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, talking about the future of cinema on a global stage 🏆🏆

This is what happens when a community backs its young people. 💯 Not with empty words. Not with parachute practices: 🪂 INSTEAD…With training. With mentorship. With a stage. With a seat at the table. 👑 Next Stop… ✈️ Cannes x AfroCannes 🇫🇷

We are so unbelievably proud. 🖤✨
