Yesterday we were honored to be part of the World Peace Awakening event with @afrokokorootfoundation ✨

Peace is essential to our collective wellbeing and plays an important role in creating communities where mental health can thrive. We’re grateful to have been part of a gathering centered around connection, music, healing, community and peace.

Thank you @sunny_shaddai and what you give to this community through @afrokokoroot and the Foundation as well as creating space for us to come together and imagine what a more peaceful world can look like.

If you know me you know I have lots of love for McGruder Family Resource Center and the people there.

We got a The 37208 Fund to help produce and support artists during the Night Out at McGruder this year. DJ Afro Sheen will host and move the music and energy in between local performers, LOVE Academy’s youth band LOVE United Band and Afrokokoroot. In addition to the stage programming, we will offer two hands-on community art activities for youth led by local artists, Megan Jordan and Courtney Adair Johnson (me).

Peep all the partners that will be out on the lawn.

National Night Out is centered on strengthening neighborhoods, building relationships, and creating safer, more connected communities.

Save the date, Tuesday October 6th from 6-8pm

McGruder Family Resource Center
2013 25th Ave North, Nashville Tn 37208

Thanks The 37208 Fund!
