When Spanish Harlem Gangs Put Down Guns & Picked Up Tools | Renigades Of Harlem, NYC 1970s 😮 This is REAL NYC history they don’t talk about enough. This rare 1970s photo captures members of the Renigades Of Harlem, a Manhattan street gang, rehabilitating an abandoned building in Spanish Harlem when the city had abandoned their community. Yes — some gangs helped rebuild their neighborhoods. The Renigades Of Harlem exchanged weapons for tools, choosing construction over destruction and responsibility over chaos. Their righteous actions must never be forgotten or erased from Classic NY Street Gangs history. 🎥 For original film footage & newspaper articles, search my older posts for “Renigades Of Harlem.” ✊🏽 Salute to the Renigades Of Harlem. 📢 SHARE this post everywhere so real history lives on.
