If you are interested in fashion and design take note of designers outside of the luxury brands, outside of commercialized financed brands, look at more independent brands. When you look at brands like @ashish, @palmerharding, @marineserre_official, @marques_almeida, @tuesmontresor_official, @the.peterdo, you find more freedom in the designs. These are just a few brands and designers to look out for when you are online shopping second hand or retail. It is good to have a balance of studying all sorts of designers. If you look outside mainstream fashion you lookout for smaller brands and designers you see individual and cultural perspectives that cross over into their designs. Also brands that produce on a smaller scale are able to offer more unique designs because they don’t over produce in-order to be on every market in retail and e-commerce. A lot of larger brands are scaling back their production as well in-order to become more sustainable but also to generate a demand by things being less accessible. After covid brands were in the red, a lot of brands wanted to build a market in China, but in 2019 and 2020 the pandemic halted that expansion. Now China, still fashion’s most sought after markets are seeing a change in spending. They want luxury but also individuality to their clothing. So e-commerce sites like farfetch, net a porter, yoox, matches, and other retailers are seeking to stock more brands and boutiques from various countries and areas to expand the market but keep it localized. Sorry for the long post, but I think it is important to know what you are buying and what you are supporting when you purchase something.
