The hardest part about pursuing a dream in Los Angeles isn’t always the rejection.

Sometimes, it’s the loneliness.

So many of us moved here from another state, another city, sometimes another country because we believed enough in ourselves to leave what was familiar and build something bigger. But LA can be an incredibly isolating place when everyone is pursuing their own dream.

You meet someone at an event, exchange Instagrams, say “we should work together,” and then everyone goes back to their lives. That was never what I wanted CONNECT/CREATE™ to become.

𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨

When I started CONNECT/CREATE™ on Substack, the vision was always bigger than events. I wanted to create a place where talented people could actually find each other, stay connected, share opportunities, collaborate, and grow together.

Then we started doing the pop-ups, and something happened that I didn’t fully anticipate: people kept coming back. Over our first four pop-ups, 100+ actors have attended CONNECT/CREATE™, with many returning for their second, third, and even fourth experience.

𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨

But the part I’m most proud of has actually happened between the pop-ups. I’ve watched members become real friends. People who met through CONNECT/CREATE™ have continued supporting each other’s careers. We’ve shared exclusive casting opportunities within the community, and members have booked jobs between events.

𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨

People aren’t just exchanging contact information. Relationships are actually forming. Careers are actually moving. And that made me realize something: the pop-up was never the whole product. The community was.

𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨

So I’m officially merging what I’ve been building through CONNECT/CREATE™ with the experiences we’ve been creating in person. What you previously knew as our Mixer-Only Pass is evolving into the CONNECT Social Club™.

So the last 2 weeks I got to go to set in La for the @thefeelininsidemovie, and I was privileged enough to not only meet real working professionals in this industry but I also got to work side by side with them. I learned, and helped where I could, this experience has been nothing short of incredible and a lot of fun. Thank you to my Dad @afuller1972 as well as @genobrookstv for allowing me to be apart of the his project and offering me some tips and mentorship, so goes for the entire production staff. I witnessed a lot of talent and got to absorb information on how film production is actually done. I’m now heading home reinvigorated and heavily creatively inspired. What an incredible weekend to have been a part of the backyard barbecue party scene for The Feelin’ Inside 🎬🔥

Huge congratulations to all the talented background actors who were selected to bring this scene to life. The energy, chemistry, and authenticity everyone brought made it feel less like work and more like a real backyard hang with friends — which is exactly the magic we were hoping to capture.
