Wardrobe Polaroid from The Rockford Files, circa 1974. Stuart Margolin had attended Bob Guccioni’s nephew’s re-bris (second time’s the charm!) and walked away with a nasty case of something that kept him in an Oxnard ICU for a month on military grade antibiotics. I stepped in to play the heir to a pinball machine fortune with a dark secret. Jim Garner played Jim Garner and, because we shared a mutual dislike of Glen Larson, he put me up me for membership at The Bel Air Country Club where I stayed as I rode out my divorce from Monica Vitti. Fun fact, that woman has one hell of a vase-throwing arm. Eventually Stuart got discharged, Monica took the house and I cabbed it to an efficiency chateau on Moorpark, where I befriended Danshelle Jacobs, who would go on to fame and fortune as Rick James’ sequin wrangler.

I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain, if you catch my drift.

¡UN EXCELENTE PRIMER PASO PARA EL DCU! Hablemos de "Creature Commandos" (2024) escrita por James Gunn, Dean Lorey como showrunner & Yves "Balak" Bigerel como director supervisor con 7 capítulos de 22 min c/u.

Sinopsis: Waller envía a un grupo de monstruos liderados por Rick Flag Sr, para evitar el fin del mundo.

Cómo es usual en Gunn logra trabajar personajes poco conocidos y hacerlos sumamente entrañables con un antecedente trágico que no sólo funciona para sus tramas individuales si no para la historia en conjunto, aún así diría que no es perfecta, no me encanta lo que hacen con Circe o que no quedará tan claro las intenciones o el objetivo final de la reina Illana.

Pero debo decir que en general estuvo genial, una buena intro (aún con ese self insert de Gunn) presentación formal de personajes e incluso pie a más temporadas, a mí parecer Gunn logra dejar las cosas lo suficientemente bien y me gusta la posibilidad de ver a los actores de voz a futuro en live-action.

Le nouveau DCU.

2025 marque officiellement les débuts du nouvel univers étendu du studio DC, filiale cinéma de DC Comics. Pour rappel, James Gunn et Peter Safran sont à la tête de ce DC Extended Universe qui a vu le jour en 2023, mettant ainsi fin au précédent projet bancale et charcuté, qui fût peut-être handicapé par la présence de Zack Snyder.

Si les fans écervelés de Snyder ont décidé que le prochain univers étendu pensé par James Gunn sera mauvais quoi qu'il arrive, il ne faut pas oublier le cinéaste à l'origine de la trilogie "Les Gardiens de la Galaxie" est un immense fan de comics, ainsi qu'un réalisateur et un scénariste de talent comme en témoigne son très réussi "The Suicide Squad" ou la 1ère saison de "Peacemaker".

À la différence du dernier univers DC qui a tenté en vain de concurrencer le MCU, le DC Extended Universe aura la particularité d'avoir un univers connecté sur différents supports. En effet, les films, les séries et les jeux vidéos correspondront au même univers. Il est fort probable que les événements d'une oeuvre vidéoludique aient un lien avec une série télévisée ou un long-métrage.

Avant la sortie du très attendu "Superman" pour cet été, James Gunn inaugure le DC Extended Universe avec une série d'animation pour adultes qui a beaucoup de succès sur HBO Max : "Creature Commandos".

Suite aux événements de "The Suicide Squad" (2021) et de la 1ère saison de "Peacemaker" (2022), Amanda Waller rassemble une équipe d'opérations noires appelée "Les Créatures Commandos", dirigée par le général Rick Flag Sr. Une escouade composée d'un loup-garou, un vampire, le monstre de Frankenstein et une gorgone qui est crée afin de protéger la Terre.

Acclamée par la presse et les fans de comics, "Creature Commandos" est la série à ne pas manquer. L'entièreté de la saison est désormais disponible sur HBO Max.

This show released and ended so fast. I had no clue what to expect from this. When it was first announced it looked boring to me. The concept was interesting though. However this show surprised me in a few ways. I thought it was gonna be another thing like suicide squad or guardians of the galaxy considering James Gunns previous projects. But thankfully this felt fresh. This introduced me to a few new dc characters I had barely any knowledge of before. The Bride was easily the best character in this show though. The animation style finally fits for dc considering all the different ones they've been using. The action is peak. Definitely a pretty solid start for the new DCU. Overall this was a surprise and I'm glad I watched it.
