devil boys from beyond… where do i start?? my first comedic role!! never did i expect my college experience to lead me to acting in full male drag, but i’m so happy it did! this production brought me close to some of the funniest people i know. i’m so glad to have shared this experience with my 8 show-stealing cast-mates, especially my two favorite lady-boys @lincoln.everetts and @ageofayden !! i’m already missing the amount of effort it took not to break character with them all 💔. i had the time of my LIFE playing gregory graham, and i feel so very honored to have been able to represent both queer women and drag kings onstage. leaving this role was NOT easy—i basically cried my mustache off. this was, no doubt, a career-changing role for me. i learned SO much about both comedy and drag through devil boys from beyond, and it’ll surely stick with me. after all, how could i forget rolling around on the floor crying over an alien anal probe? thank you to director @austinmrausch for challenging me with this amazing role, for passing along his extensive knowledge of drag culture to me, and also for being willing to go down with the ship when tragedy struck our set. and thank you, devil boys, for teaching me how to stop taking myself so seriously and live a little. this is one for the books!!! P.S. jeanne and i worked one billion hours on these damn costumes. special shout out to jeanne, the costume shop as a whole, and @veronica_mrv for these fantastic wigs!!!! 🎬Directed by Austin M. the spitfire grill—a story of forgiveness, kindness, second chances, and hope. this one has me smiling because it happened AND crying because it's over. thank you so much to this incredible incredible team of people who made this experience so special. i have absolutely loved getting to be so close with you all. especially the three amazing women i had so many meaningful conversations with in our shared dressing room every night. the spitfire grill was such a beautiful heartfelt story that i never once got tired of telling, and coming to understand each character opened my eyes and changed me as a person. i am beyond proud of this production and forever so grateful and lucky to have been a part of it. i will always miss the world of gilead, wisconsin + the laughs and tears we shared while creating it. what a privilege it was to spend my evenings doing what i absolutely love with such a kindhearted, talented group. from her incredibly nervous first appearance to her strong and confident last appearance, i think there will always be a little piece of shelby thorpe living on in my heart. thank you once again to everyone involved, and to those not pictured especially. i am immeasurably grateful to have been part of this well-oiled machine of a cast & crew 🤍🪷🦌
