Dear Jane,

My mother introduced me to you. When I was a girl, climbing trees taller than our roof top. Laying in the grass for hours, watching spiders weave their webs as if they could walk on air. When I marvelled at every cloud shaped like a bird and my little brother tried to eat the earth worms I so carefully rescued from our drive way.

It wasn’t you who caught my attention first. It was the glimmer in my mother’s eyes. As if telling me about her best friend, she told me about you. I heard about your adventures as if they were family tales. Not yet understanding what it meant to be a woman’s voice in a man made world. Not yet grasping the truths you unraveled by showing us humans what humanity entails.

Sharing this planet with you has been the greatest gift of all. Your unwavering courage to meet animals and trees and people with inexhaustible empathy will forever be my compass.

I wish to find the Jane in me that dares to live as bold and free and full of hope as you have shown is possible.

Thank you Jane for the light you dared to ignite and for the path you created for us all. I walk this path with you in hand. May we all see your reflection in the morning dew, hear your voice in the susurration of the forest leaves, and feel your trust in the earth under our nails.

Forever in awe and deep admiration,
Your Malin

❤️

Perspektívɑ – In the Mirror of Art: Exhibition by the members of the Off Space Association

We are pleased to announce that the annual exhibition of Off Space members – with a special emphasis on new members – will take place again this year, in the windows of Kossuth Street.

In the world of contemporary art, it is no coincidence that the concepts of space, place, the relationship to it, the field of vision and perspective play a central role. It is not only about the artist’s own perception and experience, as these concepts also fundamentally determine the way in which the works are perceived. In this sense, the exhibition Perspektívɑ is concerned with redefining the relationship between the artist, the work and the recipient. This unusual exhibition will be displayed in (and through) the shop windows of Kossuth Lajos Street, opening symbolic doors between everyday life and contemporary art, between the artists and the viewers. – Réka Vass

Connecting with water in nature is elemental.
The thin wireframe lightly holding the bowl-like shape aims to be an almost unnoticable, invisible part.
