There’s something about racing through the Tunisian desert that’s hard to put into words.

We have a feeling that everyone who was there this year knows exactly what we’re talking about. ❤️

And for everyone who wasn’t… there’s always 2027.

Come see what all the fuss is about. 🏜️

recap // day three

Saturday morning at 07:00 am. This time it was the dusted300 riders rolling out of Munich. Fresh legs, full bags, and a pace that was high from the very first kilometre. And the weather finally played along. A proper autumn day. Clear skies, golden light, cold air.

After CP1 at Saurüsselalm above Lake Tegernsee, the real work began. Around 6,000 m of climbing, packed tightly into the Karwendel loop.

River crossings. Tunnels. Short hike-a-bike sections.

And something special happened out there. On the same stretch, the fresh dusted300 field started meeting distanced600 riders who were already two days and many hundreds of kilometres into their ride. Quick nods, a few words, shared climbs. Two very different stories on the same road.

As the sun dropped lower, the last warm rays were used for one more nap and one more refuel. Then into the night. Down in the valleys and on the descents it got cold fast. The way autumn in the mountains does.

Just as darkness settled over the city, @lukaswynne and @tiimoosdl rolled into Munich as the first finishers of the dusted300.

And then they kept coming. All night long, riders from both loops arrived at @minna.thiel . Mud on the bikes, tired eyes, and so many stories to tell. We loved every single one of them.

The dust & distance team barely slept that night.
Worth

Different people, different stories, different reasons for being here.

But for a few days, we all shared the same roads, the same desert, and something pretty special.

These are the faces that made the first edition of Desert Bike Race what it was.

Thank you for being part of it. See you in 2027. ❤

Today, they conquered Zmela. And with it, the Desert Bike Race.

The last stage took our riders deeper into the Sahara, where rocky tracks gave way to sand, dunes and a completely different kind of racing.

Today, our riders head deeper into southern Tunisia, through spectacular canyons, rocky tracks, dry valleys and traditional Berber villages.

Fast sections, technical terrain and plenty of incredible views along the way.

A little water, some dates, something to eat and a few minutes to catch your breath.. and then its time to be back on the bike, because the desert isn’t going to cross itself. 🌵
