ART THERAPY FOR MATERNAL WELLBEING To celebrate mental health awareness I wanted to shine a spotlight on creative expression as a tool to support your maternal wellbeing. I’ve been running creative journaling sessions for a good while now and every time I do, I see expectant and new mums find incredible ways to explore this vulnerable chapter of life. Art as a therapeutic tool is a way to communicate thoughts and feelings that might be difficult to talk about. It’s also a way of celebrating, reflecting upon and preserving moments in time. Documenting your maternal experience. Sometimes it unlocks something. Sometimes it feels clunky and uncomfortable. Sometimes is wonderfully freeing. It’s nearly never about the ‘finished piece’ and always the exploration and process. It’s also space. Space to breathe deeply. To step back. To see the bigger picture. To gain perspective and to hear from others. So if you’ve been curious about maternal creative journaling… step this way… Mum’s the Word starts this Monday 12th October at Tallo, SeaSpace (and every Monday for 4 weeks. Block booking or drop in classes available) Pregnant Pause is Tuesday 20th October at Agweres, Lanteague Booking via link in bio ❤️ Beautiful photos captured by @melaniegracephoto #maternaljournal #arttherapy #pregnancy #motherhood #mentalhealthawareness

Before everyone arrives… a little behind the scenes peak from our Gut Health Supper. Tables to lay, vegetables to chop, flowers to arrange, food to prep, notes to remember. There’s something very satisfying about watching an empty space slowly become a table people will gather around - especially when that table combines delicious food with useful education that can impact lives. I love bringing together real food, great conversation and nutrition education. Watch this space for more nutrition events to come. Photos by @bellawest_photography

A fascinating evening in the company of @nikkiscrivener_healthcoach @agweres @future.ferments , if you can catch one of Nikki’s gut health sessions it’s enlightening and makes you rethink simplicity of the food you eat.

A little look inside my first Gut Health Supper this September. An evening of great food, conversation, learning and a very lovely table of people. We talked about the gut microbiome, how it impacts our everyday health, what actually supports it, and how to translate all of the information we hear about gut health into something much simpler and more enjoyable in everyday life. Food was prepared by the wonderful team at @agweres and locally fermented kombucha was provided by @future.ferments I believe that conversations about nutrition are more enjoyable when they happen around a table - with delicious food in front of us, rather than another list of things we should and shouldn’t be eating. Thank you to everyone who came, asked questions, shared stories and made the evening what it was. More evenings like this, coming soon! 📸 by the wonderful @bellawest_photography

It’s been a fun few weeks of “firsts” for me - my first Gut Health Supper, my first hour long nutrition talk, my first networking event and my first week of being a masters student! Feeling very proud of all I’ve achieved so far this year, and looking forward to what’s still to come 💪🏽

When you see retreats you might think “what’s the point in going to that? I can train or do yoga in my hometown.” But everybody needs a break from their regular lives. Everybody needs time in nature. Everyone needs space to sit down, breathe and actually have the time to do the things they enjoy. To not have to worry about the other million and one things going on for just a few days. To meet people with the same or similar interests. To make memories with them and share smiles and laughter along the way. To eat nourishing and delicious meals. To learn new skills, expand their knowledge and to open their mind to new things. This is why we do retreats. Not because it’s a trend or because it looks good. But because it feels good. For yourself, your mind, your body and soul. We couldn’t have asked for a more magical space and group of people for our first ever joint retreat! 🤍 Thank you @cabillacornwall @agweres @hikari_mats and @stuartcooperfilms for making it happen. And above all to everyone who came. We couldn’t have done it without you all! 💫✨
