DNB LAIR v7🌀 This Saturday, we welcome back one of the true pioneers of Icelandic Drum & Bass: AGZILLA 🇮🇸 Active since 1989, Agzilla has been part of Reykjavík’s underground electronic scene since its earliest rave days, helping push Jungle, Breakbeat and Drum & Bass in Iceland from the very beginning. Internationally known for his connection with the label Metalheadz and his album release Cats Can Hear Ultrasound in 2019. Decades behind the decks, an enormous knowledge of the music and a record bag that can move between deep, rough and unexpected corners of Jungle & DnB. After his recently summer tour in Japan and his performance In Iceland’s Solar Eclipse festival, Agzilla joins us for second time. Expect deep selections, broken rhythms, raw Jungle energy and unexpected turns across the spectrum of Drum & Bass. 22 is a safe space 🏳️‍🌈 Come early , stay late and bring your bass face 😤 @agzilla__ @nomadj.music @dnb.lair #dnblair #drumnbass #bassmusic #reykjaviknightlife #dnb

Beginning his career in 1989 through hip-hop and breakbeats, he later became deeply immersed in drum & bass after being inspired by the UK’s legendary Shut Up and Dance Records. An encounter with Goldie led him to experience the iconic London party “RAGE at Heaven,” a defining influence on his musical direction. Closely connected to the Metalheadz circle, AGZILLA released his early works on Reinforced Records and has shared stages with artists such as Björk, The Prodigy, and Aphex Twin. Based in Iceland, he has spent decades championing underground bass music across the UK, Europe, and the United States. In 2019, he released the album Cats Can Hear Ultrasound on Metalheadz, earning critical acclaim for its unique fusion of breakbeats, drum & bass, and leftfield electronic sounds. Rich with decades of experience and musical exploration, the album stands as a testament to AGZILLA’s distinctive artistic vision. “Released on Metalheadz in 2019, Cats Can Hear Ultrasound remains a hidden gem with a devoted cult following to this day.”
