Went on the search for double happiness with my time traveling bike dad. Dad tip if you want 4 shots of espresso on ice from a snobby coffee spot, get a sparkling water and say the cup of ice is for that. Also saw some airborne showmen land st Levi’s stadium and a fly over from 2 f-22’s #foobawl !! #merica #doublehappiness #itmakesyoubetter

Day 3 was one of the most memorable days of the #oldgrowthclassic #bikecamping trip. This event brought cyclist from all over to one of the most beautiful Forrest in the area. It was amazing watching this quite little camp ground turn in to a roaring bike village for a few days. Thank you so much @oldgrowthclassic @ibiscycles @mountainbikersofsantacruz @vervecoffee and all the other vendors and sponsors. The endless cappuccinos and amazing food really sealed the deal. Best part of the weekend besides finishing the race was seeing my friends push themselves to new heights thanks to the wonderful, loving support and foundation the bike community puts out there for us. @deepa.bhatt crushing one of the hardest rides shes been on to date. @has_mallet_does_travel with the brilliant idea of turning a race in our back yard in to a bike camping trip in our back yard and totally crushing our expectations with enough gas in the tank to make it home. @ahnacain and @juantwo3four5 for showing up to the first ever #oldgrowthclassic with one gear and @shut_up_jesus for holding it down for @fairdalebikes and #filmlovers everywhere

Yesterday’s big basin adventure was awesome. There aren’t many thing better than pedaling through a Forest of some of the biggest trees in the area. (Might not be as enjoyable on a single speed, take it from eric) Lots of big happy families. Can’t wait for next weekend

Our celebration of this year’s summer solstice consisted of a ridiculously demanding ride around the bay. We got more people than expected and it was quite a great group to suffer with. With no sleep and 200 miles we were all cranky and at our limit by the time we completed the loop. But it was worth all 20 burritos and 31 hours. Shout out to manny who is 68 ish and crushing miles on his target schwin he takes care of like a baby, Rene who is deaf and rode the whole thing on a fixie (Who know how many miles he rode before we took off) and Deepa who has been riding with us for a year and in that time has crushed 2 centuries and can now as this to her ride log, what beasts! I can’t forget @cr2rogo who was chill as a cucumber the whole time and down with the shit show and sir Eric the bike mechanic for making the last 80 miles smooth and steady. Can’t wait for the next one!

This week/ weekend made me very tan. Spent Monday diggin jumps in an undisclosed location with one of the biggest 4/20 ride groups ever. Saturday was the grand opening of Cunningham bike park and the goose was loose! Super stoked to have it in my back yard, whose tryna race dual slalom fixed? Sunday was the beat the heat pre ride to my Hamilton, an unlucky group of 13 set to conquer the mountain. With donuts in our belly and doubt in our minds we made it to the sign, I stumbled upon my teammate @steven519465730 Who was going for a birthday hillclimb happy birthday steve! None of us wanted any more donuts so we left the box to guard the sign;“no turning back now, free donuts for cyclists. “ Off we went, with in a mile or 2 I had sunk in to a pace and the sense of euphoria grew with the rise in elevation. Making it to the top in record time (personal record) we waited and enjoyed a melted almond joy, what a treat after 5k feet of climbing. 13 made it to the top but steve made it 14, wait... where’s manny!?! Next time manny. Next time. No photos from Beat the heat but you best believe we was there.

Last week we got properly lost. At some point along the ride we came to the realization that no one from our group had ever been on this trail, and that we were all doing “this” for the first time. I’ve done gravel riding before but nothing like the power tower trail. No one took a serious spill and we McGyver’d @cr2rogo freshly slashed gum walls 5 seconds after saying “man I wonder how no one got a slash yet” all and all 1/1 would do again.
