A little piece of our London home, forever in print. 🥹🖤

This time last year, the lovely Lisa Moses and Caroline Mardon visited us to capture one of our favourite rooms before we packed up our lives and moved to Shrewsbury.

From James installing the cornice to choosing the colours, restoring the character and adding that gorgeous log burner (which we still miss!), this room was such a labour of love 🖤

It’s lovely to look back at everything we created there, especially now we’re starting a whole new chapter in our next home.

You can see the full feature in the November issue of @yourhomemagazine out now which also features the fabulous @hardcastletowers ✨

What’s one thing from a previous home you’d love to bring into your current one?

…and do you want to see more of Caroline’s photos from the shoot? 👀

Does a house renovation ever go to plan? 🏡😅

Here’s a little catch-up on what we’ve been up to since moving from London to Shrewsbury. This only scratches the surface of the rollercoaster the past (7!) months has been, but it fills in a few of the blanks.

We’re incredibly grateful to have such supportive family and friends who’ve helped us through so much change.

Things are looking up, and we can’t wait to share more of what’s next with you 🖤

We’re saying Goodbye

After much thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our candle & aromatherapy business @ahouselikethis.shop

Our final day trading is Tuesday March 31st, with all remaining stock now reduced online.

This hasn’t been easy, but it’s the most mindful decision for where life is taking us. We’re so grateful for every bit of support, love, and memories you’ve shared with us 🖤

We’ll still be sharing our renovation journey & daily life @ahouselikethis, just like where it all began.

Thank you for being part of our story - we feel incredibly luckily to have survived all the challenges thrown at us along the way and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing family, friends and customers since 2018✨

After a challenging yet transformative year, we’re stepping into a new chapter with a new home renovation underway, renewed focus, and exciting plans ahead.

With this shift comes some changes to our business, but our gratitude for you remains stronger than ever. To thank you for supporting us since 2018, we’re offering up to 50% off across all ranges - our biggest sale to date and one that marks a meaningful moment of change for us.

Some lines won’t be restocked, so if there’s something you love, now’s the time to secure something mindfully made from our home to yours.

Thank you, truly, for being part of our journey. If you’d like to follow along as we move into our next chapter, be sure to stay connected @ahouselikethis - change can be unsettling, but we’re both in this next chapter together and we’d love to have you on the journey with us.

Yours, mindfully always,
Ky & James 🕯️

Welcome to A House Like This ✨

Here’s a speedy house tour of our new home in Shrewsbury. We’ve left London after nearly two decades and we are excited to start a new chapter, taking on a much bigger project. It’s a little daunting but mostly exciting! 🤗

As we did last time we will be sharing with you more of our plans for this house as we progress. We can’t wait to make it feel like home!

This week we bid farewell to our lovely friends and local business pals, Ky, James & Ezra from @ahouselikethis

The connection local small business owners build over time is so important. The mutual support, sound boarding and knowing hugs when it’s tough, makes it all so much easier to navigate. We’ll miss our friends so much!

We’ll still have their candles and scents on sale in our Cabins to keep their SoNo flame alive 🔥 and if you’ve ever notice how incredible your hands smell after a wash in our loo - you have these guys to thank!!
