POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I never realized how important community building was for growth as an artist until I went to my first session. If I was unconfident and hesitant in my skillset prior to playing my first show, this event completely flipped the script for me and has helped me branch out in ways I didn’t think I was capable of. Prior to this, I had only ever created in the isolation of my own home studio. I’ve now performed publicly, worked on beat tapes, found a new mastering engineer, linked up with producers that believe in me, played my synth in a drone session, was invited to an epic sample based hip hop session where I was served up the best homemade Chinese food I’ve ever had after playing keys in an Austin Reaves jersey and sunglasses all night (IFYKYK), sold more beats than ever before, have been given mixing opportunities and most importantly - formed friendships with some of the dopest people in the area.

Clicking play on my laptop that first night at project project manifested things I couldn’t have predicted and the local artist network entangled in these sessions not only welcomed me with open arms but nourished my love for the craft. After that first event, I was immediately hooked on the camaraderie and realized that Omaha does have an incredible scene if you look in the right places - something I had convinced myself didn’t exist here.

Lucky for me, I have now become fully involved in planning and organizing these events alongside the godfather of it all and a host of other amazingly talented people. I feel like I have found a new purpose in creating and am a part of a movement that gives confidence and a platform to the right people. The people in this city/state that you want to be around. l’d encourage everyone in the area interested in music to attend an event. Sound.wav sessions are for everyone, it doesn’t matter if you make music, enjoy listening or are considering diving into the world of creating.

Perform, network, connect, elevate.

We are building something special over at @weareprojectproject

Do yourself a favor and go follow @sound.wavsessions to stay up to date on future events

Sound.wav sessions is an open sound format event where artists from local communities converge to showcase their musical talent and provide a free admission event for those wanting to enjoy a night of music. No genre is off limits and the volume is always pushing the limits. This event is for listening, a night out with friends, networking between artists and bringing together our community.

There is never a cover at the door but donations are an option for those that can contribute to help facilitate bigger shows in the future.

Come hang out this Saturday 4.25.26 for your pregame needs or a chill night out. You can pop in, grab some drinks, snacks, or if you want the full experience, stay for the whole show. We will have a couple of wizards providing a visual experience as well.

Doors open at 7pm. The experience starts at 8pm.

We will see you there 🤘🏼

You can find us at 1818 Vinton St Omaha, NE where the event will be hosted by @weareprojectproject
