POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

139 days until the spring season.

Some athletes will use that time to get stronger, faster, and more explosive.

Others will show up wishing they had.

Same amount of time. Two very different outcomes.

The clock is ticking.

What will your athlete have to show for it?

You can break records all day behind the plate. I’m here for it.

The number that actually matters is what you can hit on your fifth, sixth, 10th swing

Most of you get tested once on your best swing and then that’s your entire story. We test because we wanna know what happens after.

When your tank runs low and your body has to repeat the swing instead of just to produce it one time, we want to find out why and then we get to work on fixing it.

The gap between your ceiling and your reputable number is a difference between a highlight reel and a recruitment letter.

That’s exactly what our exit philosophy assessment is built to find so comment the word “train” and will put you through the same assessment.

A lot of athletes can hit a big number once.

That’s not enough.

Coaches don’t care if you can touch 90+ once or twice. They want to know you can produce at a high level over and over again.

Same thing in the weight room.

If you’re rushing your rest just to get the workout done, you might not actually be training speed, strength or power anymore. You’re just getting tired.

Train hard. Recover enough to do it again. Build an engine that lasts.

I’m probably not supposed to give this much away for free, but I really don’t care.

I’ve watched this industry sell parents on enough “quick fixes,” secret drills and promises that this is finally going to be the thing that changes their kid.

That’s just not how development works.

There isn’t one exercise. One drill. One coach. One lesson.

And there definitely isn’t a shortcut.

There’s a process.

So I put ours out there.

The B3 Offseason Development Blueprint breaks down how we think about developing baseball and softball athletes and gives you an actual framework you can start using without ever paying us a dollar.

Strength. Speed. Power. Nutrition. Recovery. Arm care. Development.

I’d rather show you exactly how we do it than hide behind some “secret sauce” or keep telling you about some achievement that has nothing to do with whether I can actually make your kid better.

The work should speak for itself.

And if somebody can take what we’ve built, execute it consistently and never need B3?

Good.

That means the Blueprint did its job.

Because information isn’t what makes B3 valuable.

Execution is.

But if you keep spending offseasons chasing quick fixes, random workouts and the next shiny thing while other athletes are actually following a development process, eventually that gap shows up.

And you don’t get those offseasons back.

Comment “BLUEPRINT” and I’ll send you the whole thing for free.

“See the ball. Swing hard.”

that’s what most hitters hear first or at least something along those lines. I’ve unfortunately heard them all.

i’ve been in the same facility for eight years, listening to these lessons and the pattern is obvious: our guys that hit 90+ consistently aren’t just reacting faster.

They’re deciding faster.

Bats speed matters. But a faster swing that shows up late is still a late swing.

Most athletes are chasing more bat speed at showcases but bat speed doesn’t help much if you can’t access it on time.

We train the nervous system to recruit more of the available muscle, fire faster, and coordinate movement more efficiently but it’s important to remember that does not replace hitting instruction or pitch recognition.

It gives the hitter a better physical engine to work with.

And this is exactly why our system goes deeper than “get stronger” or “swing harder.”

We’re about to start giving away a lot more of how we train baseball and softball athletes.

Some of it is the kind of information other places would charge you for.

Follow The B3 Lab now.

The athletes and parents who understand this stuff earlier are going to have a serious advantage over the ones who keep guessing.

“WARNING TRACK POWER” is a problem, not a compliment.

You might need more raw strength, you might have strength but use it slowly or you might be missing explosiveness.

3 different problems. 3 different training priorities.

If you’ve never measured any of them, you don’t know what’s holding you back and you’re just going into your off-season blind.

You’re guessing.

I’m only half joking…but not really

I’m here to win.

Get 12 kids moving, counting and clapping together before a game and tell me it doesn’t change the energy.

And yes… the other team is going to notice.

Move together. Get loud. Go play. Go win.

Everybody wants more exit velocity.

So they lift more.
Hit more.
Swing more.

And sometimes completely ignore the things that determine whether their body can actually adapt to all that work.

If adding 5–7 MPH is one of your goals this offseason, tomorrow’s post is for you.

Especially if you think your lifting program and hitting schedule are the entire equation.

Tomorrow. Save it when it drops.

Your swing doesn’t start with the bat.

It starts with the body moving it.

And when we train the hips at The B3 Lab, we’re not just throwing “baseball exercises” into a program because they look athletic.

We want to know what we’re training and why.

The glutes are a perfect example.

Your glute max plays a major role in producing force through hip extension.

Your glute med plays an important role in controlling the hip and pelvis through abduction and stabilization.

Different jobs. Both important.

That’s part of why we use movements like the sumo deadlift with our hitters.

But here’s where athletes get fooled:

Having the right exercise in your program doesn’t mean you’re getting the right thing out of it.

You can load the bar.

You can sweat.

You can hit every set and rep.

And you can still completely miss the point of the exercise because of HOW you’re doing it.

We see the same 3 mistakes constantly.

And one of them matters more than the others.

We’re breaking those down next.

Because your athlete only gets so many offseasons, so many high school seasons and so many opportunities to develop.

Don’t waste them checking boxes.

Train with intent.

And if you don’t actually know what’s holding your development back?

TEST. DON’T GUESS.

Getting jammed on a pitch you should crush usually gets blamed on bad timing.

We test 3 physical qualities first: strength, rate of force and transfer.

Strength is how much force you can produce.

Rate of Force is how fast you can put force into the ground.

Transfer is whether that force actually makes it into the bat.

Most of you get jammed aren’t slow to the ball.

You’re leaking force somewhere in that chain before the bat ever gets there.

Follow @the_b3lab for more tips and systems.

You keep getting jammed on pitches you KNOW you should crush.

Before you automatically blame your swing, ask a different question:

Do you physically have the ability to move the bat fast enough?

Bat speed isn’t magic.

We’re looking at three major physical pieces:

Relative strength.
Rate of force production.
Transfer of force.

Said in English: Are you strong enough? Can you use that strength FAST? And can you actually transfer it into the swing?

These are the types of physical standards we’re building toward with our top hitters:

2X BW squat/deadlift.
1.5X BW bench.
30”+ vertical.

Not because lifting numbers win baseball games.

Because the weight room is where we can build physical qualities that eventually need to show up on the field.

Here’s the part you shouldn’t ignore:

You can keep working on your swing while the actual limiter never changes.

If you keep getting jammed on pitches you should crush, there may be a physical reason why.

Tomorrow I’m breaking down the 3 physical qualities behind bat speed and the standards we build toward with our hitters.

If you’re sick of getting beat inside, don’t miss it.
