what a joy this semester has been! this year has went by entirely too fast. it wasn’t easy by any means, coming to terms with a lot of things both physically and mentally, but it made me so much more resilient and understanding. life, love and loss! thank you all for making it so wonderful! senior year, here i come!!!

My first independent project for my Advanced Digital Video Class was an experimental/narrative music video for the song “Backdrifts” by Radiohead (this is before critiques + revisions, I just really wanted to post it). This music video tackles the isolation and pain I felt when recovering physically and mentally during the first month of sobriety. Having everyone tell you how proud they are of you and how much better you look when you’re sober, when getting up every day genuinly feels like a battle is such an arduous situation. Having the support of others even when you’re feeling like nobody understands the battle you’re fighting can be so hard, so I wanted to create something that represents that.

Filming took about a week, and editing took about a week respectively. All of this being said, I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my amazing support group. Shoutout to my boyfriend for helping me film and my friends for being amazing actors, and just wonderful people in general :-) I’m so lucky to have you all in my life.

i can’t believe i’m already over halfway done with university. i’ve grown in so many ways, and watched my friends grow and change too. it’s a beautiful feeling being able to bond with my friends over the future we’re all chasing together. thanks for being part of the fun this time around <3

I have never met anyone else in my entire life that shows me the real, unwavering love that you do. You are gentle and patient with me, and as someone who at times is very emotional or anxious, I couldn’t be more thankful for when you’re there for me in those moments. You make me feel so understood, and we truly complete each other. There’s really nothing I love more than holding you in my arms. You are also so kind to everybody you meet, and the care you show for others is so real and genuine. I genuinely don’t think I can name a single person I know who dislikes you 🥹 I am so lucky to be able to wake up every day and call you mine. You went from being my co-worker, to my friend, to the best boyfriend in the world and it’s been such an amazing journey so far. I can’t wait to make more memories with you, my dear! <3
