$GOOD THINGS | Week 40 Morning coffee & this light. Getting to see Eli & his roommates this week! I loved getting a tour of their house. The camaraderie and bond this crew has is pretty special. They’re funny and serious. Intentional and full of such hope. “Mom, can you make us chicken poppyseed casserole, mashed potatoes, peas, and bread?” After leaving the guys with a home cooked meal, Kenny and I went and had a tailgate date. We picked up some burgers and fries from a new restaurant in Cleveland, Tallow House. The food was delish! I loved that we parked in the Gobble Automotive parking lot. PUNS. Last names. More puns. Hawk Ambassadors have been a solid start. We’re 5 weeks into the kids owning their leadership role each week. Is the system perfect? No. Do kids mess up and forget to greet kids in the room or show up late? Yup. Are they learning about what it means to pick a focus character trait and rate how well our class does in 90 minutes with that focus? Yes. Will this translate into their real world and help give them more tools to be self managing humans? That’s the hope and goal! The Rebel game day love just keeps coming. My 2nd period guy never fails on showing up to cheer and support the Rebels with something thoughtful. The young man’s spirit is through the roof! Not pictured: SWIMMING with friends after school! We floated and kicked and laughed for 3 hours! Not to mention, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. This next day lunch is evidence of the smoked chicken that we had. Christy was kind enough to send me home with extras so I could have it in my lunch. The food, the fellowship, and the floating was such a mid week gift. After 11 years with 2 of those searching for a new couch, we finally pulled the trigger. It’s true that the older you get, the pickier you are about your products and how you spend your money. Our specifications for purchase were niche. Last Sunday, we found an ad for exactly our requirements. A special shout out to Kenny and Casey for making the trip MID WEEK to purchase and pick up our new set up. For a fraction of the cost, we were able to acquire well made, exact to us specifications, and well taken care of co$
