Experimental Santa was an incredible experience this year. We had a cast/crew that really pulled together to make it as crazy as it was! First and foremost, a tremendously loving thanks to Aidia Rayne for their creativity, their endless skills, and their extreme patience with me - they’ve helped elevate the show to new levels in so many ways. This year’s rendition would not have been possible without the help and talents of Keg Whitford, Bri Bowman, David Yearwood, Jesse Vear, Tom Kovacevic - thank you all for totally committing to the insanity (performing, decorating, and brainstorming). Sincere thank you to Chris Livengood for making some of the essential backing tracks for the show, to Pepper O’Hara for creating most of Experimental Santa’s merch, to Blake Walther and Mark Fede for their extra hands in putting the sets together, to Pat Corrigan and Greg Jamie for donating their time working the event. And to the Apohadion Theater for being such a special home base all these years and for donating the venue cut of the door. Also thank you to Lincoln for taking all of these incredible photos of Sunday’s performance and to Greg Murphy for taking photos Saturday, I will share some of them soon! A special thank you to the audience that packed the house both nights! We were able to raise $1518 to donate to Project Relief. Biggest thanks to @projectreliefme for the serious labor they put in to help protect and support Portland’s most vulnerable communities. They do this work despite many hateful people who push against them. If you want to support them directly - they are currently doing a campaign to gain monthly donors (but also take one time donations) - help them keep families warm during these bitter months. Huge love to you all! THANK YOU!!!

That’s right, soak it up time bandits! Anyway, I booked this really special queer noise poetry night at @mayostreetarts. It’s centered around a performance called A Close Reading with Lids and Ellen - featuring Lids from babybaby_explores (my fav contemporary band). I saw the piece in October and it’s truly a special and unique way to experience poetry, noise, analysis and reflection. Refracted lines creating new lines creating newer lines. The show also features sound and poetry performances by Keg Whitford, Iris M, and my saweetie Aidia Rayne with David Yearwood. Doors at 7:30 and it will start right at 8pm for real! Please come!!! This sorta thing is my experiment at MSA and I really hope it flies- I hope it soars!!!!! Rock rock rock till the broad daylight!!!!!!!!!

hi world come to Mayo Street Arts this Saturday (12/14) for an evening of sounds and what could be loosely described as "poetry" (I'm pretty sure) I'll be opening up the night with some of my spoken word stuff. This time I'm armed with a loop pedal and trying something new so get there early don't miss out. I'm performing alongside an assortment of other wonderful word people and I'm very excited for you to see what they all have in store. Thanks to Colby @laughablerecordings for putting this together This also falls on the evening of (before?) the last full moon of the year so it's sure to be a special one. bye I love you, hope to see you there!

A Close Reading with Lids and Ellen featuring additional local performance readings from Keegan Whitford, Iris M, and Aidia Rayne with David Yearwood - a night of refracted poetry, experimental sound, and the intersection where the two coalesce. In their own words - “Lids and Ellen (Providence, RI) perform a close reading of a somewhat confusing poem that seems to be about a river, a bridge, a blade, and a mysteriously unnamed place. This presentation is an exercise in absolute abstraction and clarification, turning to the intelligence of electronic sound to illuminate wutever esoteric apparatus of meaning is attempting to make itself known.” Saturday, December 14th at 8:00 PM (7:30 PM doors)
