In Organising Principles of Experience, Brazilian artist-filmmaker Gabriela Tropia digitally resurrects Maya Deren, the visionary experimental filmmaker of the 1940s and 1950s, through an AI model shaped by Deren’s own writings.

The two filmmakers, one living and one reborn as code, collaborate to imagine new films together. The film is a cinematic ritual of dancing bodies and Haitian traditions that explores memory, possession, and the digital afterlife, and it asks what creativity and cinema itself might become.

Gabriela brings rare depth to AI filmmaking. An artist, filmmaker, and educator working across film, performance, and emerging technology, she founded the world’s first MA in Screendance, and she now leads the MA Performance: Screen at Central Saint Martins in London, where she is exploring AI film as a new medium.

Her work has screened at Cinedans Amsterdam, Sadler’s Wells, and the National Museum of Singapore.

Organising Principles of Experience has traveled the world:

🏆 Winner, MUSE Antropocene Prize 2025, Festival CinemaZero, Italy
🏆 Honorable Mention, AI Entertainment Con Year III
🎬 Official selections at Cine Esquema Novo (Brazil), CURRENTS 2026 Art & Technology Festival, Life Beyond Life Film Festival (Turin), and the International Experimental Film Festival in Athens, screening this week

Now the film joins LUMINA Cinema, bringing a new light back to the big screen.

Welcome, Gabriela.

Welcome Dina Lockamy @ethereal_gwirl!

She discovered AI as a stay-at-home mother raising a beautiful family, and it led her to a creative partner across the Atlantic: Melody Bossan (LeMoon) in Nice, France. Together they formed Ethereal Moon, a duo that makes surreal, dreamlike cinema where nostalgia and disturbance live side by side.

Her work has earned global recognition:
🌟 Named to Leonardo.Ai’s 2026 Power List of Top 50 Women AI Filmmakers, as half of Ethereal Moon
🏆 AImagine Award for Best Film, AI Film Academy Awards, Lisbon (Denny the Shark)
🖼️ Exhibited in Artist + Intelligence: Reimagining the Artistic Process with AI
🎬 Finalist, AI Entertainment Con Year III (Altered State)

Welcome Melody Bossan @lemoon.synthography !

Based in Nice, France, Melody came to AI storytelling from TV production and video game marketing. Her work turns memories, fears, and dreams into something nostalgic and unsettling, a style she calls “absurd realism,” full of horror, weirdness, and fever-dream parallel worlds. She once missed her dream of attending France’s renowned film school La Fémis by an inch. AI gave that dream a second life.

Together with Dina Lockamy (Ethereal Gwirl), Melody forms Ethereal Moon, an AI filmmaking duo bridging Nice and New York and creating surreal, dreamlike cinema where nostalgia and disturbance live side by side.

Their work has earned global recognition:
🌟 Ethereal Moon named to Leonardo.Ai’s 2026 Power List of Top 50 Women AI Filmmakers
🏆 AImagine Award for Best Film, AI Film Academy Awards, Lisbon (Denny the Shark)
🎬 Finalist, AI Entertainment Con Year III (Altered State)

Melody is also a creative partner with leading AI platforms including Sora, Runway, Kling, and ElevenLabs.

Lumina Cinema (luminacinema.ai) brings Talia Lotan to the cinema big screen!

An Israeli filmmaker and documentary editor, Talia built her career in conventional documentary, with several of her films broadcast on Israeli television. Today she brings that discipline to AI cinema. Her focus shines in reviving history and recreating forgotten worlds and the human stories inside them.

A student of history, she combines archival research, historical authenticity, and cinematic storytelling to show the human side of historical figures, connecting today’s audiences with lives that might otherwise fade into the record.

Her film “Stonewall, The Making Of” shows what that looks like. It follows the production of an unmade feature about a Civil War general, weaving interviews with on-set footage until the line between a behind-the-scenes record and history disappears.

🏆 Best AI Documentary, AI Entertainment Con Year III (Stonewall, The Making Of)
🎬 Official selection, “The AI Films” section, 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026

Now, as a LUMINA Luminary, her work will reach independent cinemas and theaters, bringing light back to stories history nearly forgot.

Welcome, Talia. We are proud to have you onboard.
