A song written to my younger self. All I wanted was to grow up and feel free, now I understand that the closest thing I got to that feeling was when I saw the world through the eyes of a child..

Nora, takk for tilliten og at du gav meg så mye rom til å utforske og leke ❤️

Tales of a Jester is out now 🃏❤️

I really truly do not have the words for this but I’ll try my best.

A few years ago I set out to make something that felt so completely, undeniably me. I loved all of the songs I’d already put out, but I wanted to dive deeper within myself and create a body of work that felt like my musical DNA. I spent over a year in brainstorm mode, entering every session trying to make the weirdest thing I could just to deconstruct the walls in my head of ‘right’ and ‘wrong.’ Very very slowly the soundscape of the album took hold, and the basis of the fairytale backdrop started to form.

It wasn’t until I wrote ‘Jester’ last year that everything clicked. For so long I’ve been plagued by this unbelievably annoying and incredibly human desire to be liked, to be loved, to be seen, in all aspects of my life. Professionally, personally. For a long time this desire for approval weighed on me (it obviously still does a little because I’m a human being), but after writing the title track of this album everything shifted. I know it sounds a bit silly, but to me self-identifying as a Jester was actually super empowering. Like ya I’m a mf jester!! I’m here to entertain and experience love and aren’t we all in our own ways??? The day I wrote it with Kevin, Jules, and Emilia I went home and scream cried to the song on loop for no joke 6+ hours. In that moment the concept of the album came to me, the Pinterest boards were made, the world was built. My heart rate was so high from the adrenaline I had to do a guided meditation to lower it before bed lol.

If you cut me open, this album would flow out. It is every version of myself in one, all of the ugliest and best parts. Making this is absolutely without a doubt the hardest and best thing I’ve ever done.

And it took a village. I could never ever have made this without every single person credited above. Building this world has been such a sacred experience and I owe that to everyone in my community who has supported me these last few years.

To the Bakery, you know how much I love you. This is only the beginning <3

Love,
Your fav court Jester
