🌟Some battles are invisible, but that doesn’t make them any less real. Saving Grace by Aimee Eberle brings one family’s difficult journey into the light with honesty, courage, and love.🌟

✨Told through the alternating perspectives of Grace and her mother, this deeply moving memoir offers two sides of the same struggle. Grace’s diary entries reveal the confusion and emotional turmoil of living with anorexia, while Aimee’s voice captures the fear, helplessness, determination, and unwavering love of a mother who refuses to give up.✨✨✨

✨Together, their experiences create a powerful story about the realities of eating disorders, the challenges of recovery, and the strength required to keep moving forward when hope feels distant. Yet this is ultimately a story of resilience—not simply survival, but the possibility of healing and finding light after the darkest moments.✨✨✨

💫Honest, compassionate, and deeply inspiring, Saving Grace reminds us that awareness begins with conversation, recovery is possible, and no one should have to walk the road to healing alone.✨✨✨

🌟Behind every illness is a person, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard without judgment.🌟

✨Saving Grace by Aimee Eberle is a powerful and deeply personal memoir that explores the devastating realities of anorexia through two voices—the daughter living through it and the mother fighting alongside her. Grace’s diary entries reveal the confusion, fear, and emotional struggle of her experience, while Aimee offers an intimate look at the helplessness, determination, and unconditional love of a parent watching her child battle for recovery.✨✨✨

✨Together, their perspectives create an honest portrait of an illness that reaches far beyond the individual, affecting relationships, families, and everyday life. Yet within the pain, there is also resilience, courage, and a powerful belief in recovery.✨✨✨

💫Raw, compassionate, and profoundly human, Saving Grace is more than a memoir—it is a reminder to listen, understand, support, and never lose hope. A meaningful read for anyone seeking greater awareness and empathy around eating disorders and the journeys of those affected by them.✨✨✨

💫Book: Saving Grace
💫Author: Aimee Eberle

🌟I found Saving Grace to be a deeply moving and honest memoir that stayed with me long after I finished reading it. The story gives a very personal look at anorexia and the effect it can have not only on the person struggling with it but also on the entire family. I appreciated how openly Aimee and Grace shared their experiences without trying to hide the difficult parts of their journey.🌟

✨What I liked most was the use of two different voices. Grace’s diary entries helped me understand the confusion, fear, and emotional struggle she experienced, while Aimee’s perspective showed the helplessness and worry a parent can feel while watching someone they love go through such a difficult time. Seeing both sides made the story feel more complete and personal.✨✨✨

✨The book does not make recovery look simple or quick. Instead, it shows how challenging the process can be and how much patience, courage, and support it can require. I found this honesty important because it makes the story feel realistic rather than presenting an easy solution to a serious problem.✨✨✨

✨I was also touched by the strong bond between Aimee and Grace. Even during the hardest moments, their love and determination remain at the heart of the story. The book shows how important understanding, communication, and support can be during difficult times.✨✨✨

💫Overall, I found Saving Grace to be a powerful and heartfelt memoir about struggle, family, hope, and recovery. I would recommend it to readers who want to better understand eating disorders and the emotional impact they can have on families. For me, its strongest message is that even through extremely difficult moments, healing is possible and no one has to face the journey alone.✨✨✨

Three years ago, LAGOM opened its doors with a simple hope: to create a space where people could feel seen, held, pushed to their edges, and truly at home. Today, that hope is a reality.

To everyone who has breathed deep belly breaths, bounced it out on the trampolines, and flowed through on the mat, thank you. Thank you for showing up, for trusting this space, and for believing in what LAGOM is about.

And to those who haven’t yet walked through the door, I’m here to welcome you in.

Thank you for three years of wellness, connection, and joy! Here’s to many, many more 🩵

LLP #532 “Saving Grace” by Aimee Eberle

The word honest is used a lot when it comes to memoir writing. But I think, so often, it is mis-used. Honest is not perfect. Honest is not pretty. Honest is not tied up with a pretty satin bow. Honest is messy. Honest is raw and uncomfortable. In my opinion “Saving Grace” is one of the most honest books I have ever read about an eating disorder. In this book, Aimee Eberle weaves together her own diary entries along with those of her daughter, Grace. Together these accounts and other memories form the picture of a family struggling. It is not only Grace and Aimee’s struggle, but also the path that their entire family must navigate including a father, two brothers, and an older sister. Anorexia can be sneaky and secretive. There is a scene when the family goes out for a frozen dessert after dinner, and one of the brothers says, “Grace threw hers under a car,” in order to stop herself from eating it. Heartbreaking, the family must navigate Grace’s struggles together, while trying desperately to support her, heal her, and keep her alive. Through doctors, hospitals, and inpatient treatment programs, together they build an army of care. “Saving Grace” is a beautiful, and yes honest book, that explores, from the inside, how a family wages a battle, and ultimately, victoriously wins. @aimeberle to buy this book on Amazon click on the link in my bio
