The Bureau of Artistic Indecency and For the Outcast present an exhibition comprised of women and gender non-conforming artists during Grey City festival at @r100_projectspace on May 15 & 16!

Within the bubble of subculture, our attention is often unwittingly drawn towards the output of musicians above other types of artistry. Dominant culture demands a focus on cis-white-male achievement, and this is so often reflected back to us through the sphere of the punk scene.

Illustrators, painters, poets, and photographers together create the wild resplendence that is necessary for a symbiotic creative community. This exhibition intends to highlight the talents of those that may be underrepresented in the contemporary punk scene, but are nevertheless central to its vitality and documentation. It’s your world, too.

With pieces by Alex Miklowski, Alina Pleska, Amy Haghebaert, Anna Mahone, Arielle McCuaig, Bere Medina, Brandi Strauss, Bree Crosby, Cecile Ibáñez, Charvel Rappos, Claudia Aïcha, Darya Yuferova, Debora Gomes, Diana Damewood, Diana Ryndyuk, Holly Hang, Jeanne Geise, Lia Kantrowicz, Luan Sandküler, Maëlle Le Montagner, Manon Monjaret, Marie Laforge, Miriam Beer, Mister Sister, Natalia Kasiarz, Oyèmi Hessou, Patrícia Carvalho, Rosina Marie, Sera Helen, Veronika Marks, and Yasmin Amling.
