For 4 years now, I’ve been hosting the Secret Santa Movement where strangers gift each other presents. Last year we had our first physical hangout and this year despite all odds, we made it happen again.

We set up the Christmas tree together, came with food and drinks, play games, laughed, shared our wins of the year and goals for next year, and of course shared Christmas gifts with each other.

I’m glad that I have this Christmas tradition and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m also grateful to those of you that were selected and showed up despite the short notice 🫶🏻

In Makoko, I came to document, but I left carrying this moment.

Being on the field isn’t just about ticking tasks off my list, it’s about seeing, feeling, and connecting with the lives behind my work.

Seeing this little boy in a quiet boat, lost in thought, sets a reminder that every project I manage touches real people, with real dreams, and real challenges. This alone gives me more than enough reasons to put my all in every of my projects.

This is why I show up, not just as a project & operations manager, but as a storyteller for those whose voices deserve to be heard.
