Inis Diomáin, nach bhfuil sibh chomh draíochtúil 🥹🫶✨

Thank you to everyone who was part of this gooorgeous weekend celebrating the arrival of Imbolg and our fiery goddess and matron saint Brigid - hyuuuup ye legends!

To micky and Ian in Alfie’s giving up their space for cross making, the team at Pots for giving us space to create our Brideogs and sharing stories, to Ellie and Jessie in the Salmon who provided a space for our creative sparks to be nurtured. Fiona who helped make Brigid’s Críos. To Méabh and Simon and Stew on sound - holy moly what a privilege to be in your sweet sweet musical company and of course to the poignant and stunning projections by Myriam and Áine. To Oonagh and Tara for encouraging us to step into and connect with nature first thing on Brigids Day and to Louise who got us to step isteach agus amach in Teach Ceoil along with Yvonne, Sinéad and Shane. Then of course to Gilly and the wonderful Hush Disco for really letting us shake off any bits of winter.

To absolutely everyone who was part of the weekend and the procession - you’re all amazing! Trish leading the beautiful musicians, Alice leading the way with the groovy styling Cailleach and Maeve Collins for celebrating our Biddy Boy traditions. To Tom Barry for sharing his scealaí, Eldon for the constant support, Maria, Julie, Jean and Ellie with their creative spark. To Pat and Joan in Cooleys too for allowing us to always keep her lit!

I want to personally thank Dáire, Myriam and Zillah too - what a pleasure and a privilege to share this weekend with you!

Roll on next year for more magic and may you all have the most enchanting and nourishing Imbolg season ahead ☺️🍃✨

Also may I add, quite the privilege to be Bridgie 🥰🫠💜

To mark #BrigidsDay, a candle lit vigil for all children who died in the care of the state and religious orders, will take place outside Sean MacDermot Street former Magdalene laundry in Dublin on Wednesday 4th Feb 2026 at 6pm.

This intimate vigil will include performances by @deemulrooney, Laura Murphy, @lunatraktors , and @seanmulrooneymusic (Sean Seán Nunutzi).

There will also be speeches from survivors. Please bring a candle and join in support for this moving vigil. Artists who have created work in memory of the children who died are invited to please bring it along and feel free to discuss your work. Thanks to Alison O’ Reilly and team for co-creating this beautiful ceremony.

On #BrigidsDay 2021, #HerStory journeyed into the very heart of Ireland to help to heal the heartbreak of the #MotherAndBabyHomes scandal. Iconic buildings illuminated to witness and honour all who suffered in SOLAS, a pilgrimage of light co-created with @dodeca_ireland, @petermartinslens , @therachaelkeogh, @alisonbethoreilly, and #HerStory creative director Melanie Lynch.

From the shadows into the light, @athlonecastle, @belvederehousegardensandpark and former Mother & Baby Home Sean Ross Abbey, lit up with the names of all the children who died at Bessborough Mother & Baby Home, as captured in the @irish_examiner commemorative cover.

The once silenced and invisible survivors were made visible in powerful portraits by photographer Karen Morgan, their eyes revealing the depth of their humanity and courage.

At @galwaycitymuseum, an immersive arts performance of women dressed in white - their bodies illuminated with archival photographs of the children - performed a cathartic ceremony singing lullabies as they hung babies’ clothes on a washing line, reminiscent of the Magdalene Laundries where many women were sent after the Mother & Baby Homes.

A new feminine power was awoken in the Sovereignty project co-created by @myriamdelirium and @aineo_brien 🌀

Now Mná na hÉireann are reclaiming our sexuality, spirituality and sovereignty.

Going back up on the wall in Clare... we didnt know the name of this piece done in the early noughties... until @aineo_brien working with me on the show in London found the name in one of Petes many notebooks. We thought how true... I think it might be Iran.
