POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If you know me, you know that I often feel nostalgic and a bit emotional when it comes to endings. Today is one of those days as I realize I have just two shifts left at the place that has been my second home since I moved to Geyserville, where I first set up a stage for TCO back in January 2023. If I could tell my past self about all the adventures, wonderful events, and amazing people I’ve encountered during my time at The Charter Oak, I wouldn’t have believed it. Even now, I could pinch myself when I chat with the talented winemakers I’ve read about, pouring wine for them on a casual Tuesday night and asking how their kids are doing.

I’ve learned so much about wine, food, hospitality, seasonality, and life from the incredibly talented individuals who work and dine here, and I’m fortunate to call them my friends. I’m thankful for the stairs that have taken me down to the cellar a million times, especially since I’ve probably consumed around 500 cheeseburgers and an equal weight in fermented soy dip! I’m grateful for the beautiful wines I’ve had the pleasure of sipping and selling. Life is all about balance.

I’m especially thankful to the Kostows for their unwavering support during both tough and joyous times. Being part of a community that came together to honor our coworker and my best friend, Danny, will always hold a special place in my heart. Chef Kostow’s dedication to the craft and the team is truly inspiring, and I’m grateful to have witnessed it firsthand. On a side note, a scholarship has recently been established for CIA students in Danny’s name; feel free to message me for the link.

It’s your last chance to visit me at TCO today and tomorrow. I would love to pour you my favorite dessert pairing of Royal Tokaji to enjoy with your soft serve or a glass of Burgundy to go with the world famous cheeseburger. 🍔🍷🌿
