🚨TRENDING ARTIST🚨 (Artworks on Sale!) Ajileye David (b. 2000) is a multidisciplinary Nigerian visual artist whose work explores the intersections of identity, tradition, and contemporary social issues. His practice blends realism and abstraction, offering a compelling commentary on the lived experiences of youth, particularly within the African socio-cultural landscape. David’s journey into the creative world began early in life, nurtured by a deep passion for expression despite facing significant challenges, including societal pressure and the skepticism of traditional African parenting toward art as a viable profession. Undeterred, he remained committed to his craft and has since developed a distinctive voice within the Nigerian art scene. Currently an undergraduate, David received formative artistic training under the mentorship of respected Nigerian artists such as Mr. Abdulsalam Abdulkareem, Nzennaya Barry, and Jideonwor Gabriel. Their influence helped shape his technical abilities and conceptual depth. Ajileye’s body of work often centers on themes such as the feminine connection, heritage, emotional resilience, interpersonal relationships, and socio-political dialogue. He considers his art a vehicle for storytelling and advocacy—a voice for those navigating the complexities of identity and modernity. His works have been exhibited in both local and international platforms, including: • “Ulu Önder, Serhat, Sehrimizde” International Exhibition – Turkey (2021) • 3rd International Painting Biennale: “Changing the Empty Surface” – (2021) • “A Ray of Hope” Online Exhibition – Nigeria (2023) • “How Time Flies” Online Exhibition – Nigeria (2023) Ajileye David continues to use his art to reflect the nuanced realities of young Africans while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling in contemporary Nigerian art.
