This year’s seminar truly taught me some valuable lessons. I’m so extremely grateful to have experienced LYS once again. The people, chants, and late nights could always bring me back in a heart beat. And while the week wasn’t perfect it was still amazing because nothing could ever ruin the joy that LYS brings me. LYS is the perfect reminder that even the hardest moments can be apart of something beautiful.

To my Anemonesss so happy to have served as your chairperson. I will miss all our laughs, inside jokes, and everything that made our group special.

Lastly I’m so grateful to have been selected as Most Outstanding Delegate truly such an honor. I will forever carry the words “No man is an island” where ever I am because who are we without each other. @louisianayouthseminar #nmiai #anemones

My LYS, where do i even begin. you’ve given me friends that will last a lifetime, soft serve ice cream, and most importantly my why. last year I came to LYS looking to grow as a leader, but this year I came to grow as a person. Last year I held myself back and decided not to run for any positions. Although I fell short, I realized that I was the real winner. So many people were behind me, my jellyfish, my outstanding running mate, and even my torries. I finally realized that people saw something special in me and it was time for me to realize it too. Throughout my life i’ve been an L and an A, a Hamilton and a Burr, but this week i felt like i was just Malia. LYS makes me feel like anything I dream of is possible, and so it will be. a so thank you LYS for giving me “something so worthwhile that I devote my life to” thank you for “the gift of leadership”

what a summer to remember! 🥹💜🪸🪼… having to rush to pack from nationals to lys in a day was tiring and exhausting but it was worth it. nationals i danced on stage one last time with the seniors who have taught me a great amount of lesson that im going to take into the next season and life. as it is sad to say that they are leaving and going on to college. they have gave me some big shoes to feel, but i wouldn’t ask for it any other way. i am so grateful i choose to come back to dance because i dont know where i would’ve been without this amazing team. from the staff to the parents to us dancers. the hard work and long nights we put in might be hard at first but the rewards after are so great. with us experiencing the stand out award was a huge moment for us, it gave us confirmation that our hard work is paying off. so thank you seniors and DU 💜 for all that y’all have done to shaped me into a better dancer and person. now to lys, at first i was scared and worried and honestly didn’t know what i was getting myself into. on the first day getting greated with everyone yelling and screaming asking me if i need help with my bags was a lot, it was soo many people i was beyond overstimulated. but throughout this week i have gained something more then friendships. i have gained a family, that i choose to love and cherish for a life time. my home group KELP!! has been such a blessing from us sharing our stories, our laughs, our tears, good and bad moments together it was all special. lys has taught me how to hold on tight to my village, my support system. but also how to lead, how not to be selfish, how to take in every moment, and how to cherish each and every person for their differences. i truly believe that lys has made me a better person and changed my perspective about life. thank you so much mrs. luquet for giving me this opportunity to go to lys and seeing something in me that i didn’t see in myself. and thank you lys for giving me a family and teaching new life skills. ❤️🤍🪸 #explorepage✨ #feedfeed
