Epic night at @thebitterrootclub , thank you @meilin21 @andrewskala for gracing us with your talent, professionalism and skills. Everytime I cook with Mei - I learn so much, and have so much fun. It was truly and honor. Thanks for trusting me to host you - I don't take it lightly and I never will. ❤️

Several highlights I'll never forget- the absolute silence of the room when Mei's shrimp toast hit the table and people took the first bite 🤯, @ajmccafferty getting to showcase his brilliance with the wine pairings on this one even more than normal, AND HAVING THE 👸 OF SWEETS in the house @kirjensen and our members and guests getting to put a face to match with the love they've enjoyed since day one when ending a meal in our spot. And of course there's no way to end a good night of cooking then with a cold beer and @whitneyburnside makes the best in the world right down the hall at @grandfirbrewing

🔥 Raku season is coming in hot! 🔥 Fun for everyone, open to the public and beginners.

Join us at Radius with AJ ( @ajmccafferty ) on Saturday, October 3rd for an afternoon of fire, smoke, shiny glazes, crackles, and a little bit of ceramic magic.

Bring your own bisque, glaze a couple of AJ’s premade pots, or just come watch and learn. No experience necessary!

Pieces come out of the kiln glowing hot, and you’ll head home with your finished pots that same day.

Come get fired up with us! 🔥

Hero shots inbound from this awesome cone 10 gas firing at @radiusartstudio — I’ve been such a fan of the glazes made by @nowwhatpotteryworks and having her lead the glazing session before the firing was fantastic for realtime feedback on how each one behaves. The real dice roll was a donated white shino, which yielded some beautiful texture, crazing and carbon trapping. For another gaiwan I was curious how tenmoku, a traditional Japanese glaze, would look on a classically Chinese form of teaware — the result is so striking and I feel like both aesthetics can be seen. The iron rich sparkle from the tomato iron red glaze I also love. Finally, I had a chance to use some true green celadon — it’s subtle in comparison to the others, but clean and something I could see being used every day.

Shoutout to @ajmccafferty for enduring a hot weekend to run the kiln. It was very reassuring knowing the whole firing process was in good hands.

I’ve had such positive interactions and experiences at Radius; I highly recommend firing with them and using some of Lela’s glazes if you ever get the chance!

Amazing food with amazing friends.

Tried Slovenia wine for the first time. It was the perfect pick for today's hot weather.

See @thebitterrootclub again in a couple months!

Raku Saturday July 18th with @ajmccafferty no experience or materials needed! Bring your own pots or fire some handmade pieces made by AJ.

Raku is a fast, fiery, slightly unpredictable firing where pots come out glowing orange and go straight into a bin full of combustibles for some smoky reduction. Results include crackles, metallic flashes, and one-of-a-kind surfaces you cannot get any other way.

Glaze your pieces, help fire the kiln, and (yes) pull them out while they’re red hot! It’s dramatic, collaborative, and very fun.

Bring your own pieces to fire, or purchase one of instructor Ajs to experiment with.

No experience needed, just bring your curiosity (and maybe a snack to share)!

Crazy @thebitterrootclub has turned one! I am very grateful to have sold out every single Friday for an entire year, and every time we release reservations they sell faster than the time before. @ajmccafferty you're really really good at what you do, and your hospitality is addictive. @kirjensen you're every bit as badass as the entire city and beyond says you are- youre brillliant. Thanks to the entire team at @grandfirbrewing who makes this thing possible by helping me every Friday. You guys are the best. Cooking on the street is challenging, fun and always exciting 😭. What we do in the corner of stark and 14th is very special and I love it. @whitneyburnside ❤️
