＊＊＊ 🎄Merry Christmas!🎄 On December 4th, my Regional Revitalization colleague Mrs. Tajima and I held a Christmas Workshop! There were 4 participants in total, 2 of which are members of the Fukui Foreign Community Leaders! While making wreaths out of olive branches, we all talked in English and Japanese about Christmas in Peru and Brazil. When it comes to Christmas in South America, most folks go to Catholic Mass, make food and spend time with their families, and exchange gifts! In the USA, we also make sweets and spend time with our families and exchange gifts! Once everyone finished their wreaths, we headed to the kitchen for the American culture workshop, making chocolate chip cookies from scratch! Making cookies for Santa is an important part of American Christmas. Just like making cookies with family in the US, we used simple recipes and only two tools: a spoon and a kitchen scale. And just like making cookies with your family, the participants worked in pairs to make their cookies! What plans does everyone have for Christmas this year? I’m doing a gift exchange with friends! . .
