Five weeks postpartum and somehow we cleaned up pretty nice for two very tired parents 😂🖤

Yesterday was mentally and physically challenging, but so special. I got to watch my best friend of 25 years marry her best friend, with Chloe there as the newest little member of our tribe 🥹

It still feels surreal that only one month ago, I birthed a whole human in our home, unmedicated, and immediately stepped into motherhood. You barely have time to process how intense and insane birth is before you’re learning your newborn, surviving on broken sleep, and figuring out who you are in this completely new season.

I couldn’t stay all night or do everything the way I once would have, but motherhood is teaching me that showing up the best way I can is enough. Yesterday, that meant celebrating Sophie, giving my maid of honour speech, and then speeding home to my baby girl 🎀

Still wrapping my head around it all… and feeling so grateful that my birth experience was such a positive one. I still can’t believe I’m a mom 🥹🤍

There are moments in life that split everything into a before and an after.

This was mine.

After years of learning, moments of loss, preparing, trusting my body, and holding onto the vision, I welcomed Chloe Joy into the world in the comfort of our home, surrounded by the people I love most.

I held onto this vision from the very beginning. Even when it felt hard. Even when it felt misunderstood. I chose preparation over fear, trust over doubt and it was worth every moment.

It was intense.
It was raw.
It was humbling.
It was the most empowering and soul-shifting experience of my life.

Birth asked everything of me, and somehow gave me even more in return. 🥹🎀✨

To my body… thank you.
To my midwife, my sister, and Evan… thank you for making me feel so safe.
And to my sweet Chloe… thank you for making me a mama.

Part 1 — a little sneak peek into our new home 🏠🛠️

First-time homeowners… turning Pinterest moodboards into real life ✨

Evan and I are honestly having so much fun dreaming up each space and then watching it come together piece by piece. We’re documenting all the before and afters because the transformation is going to be insane. Did you see our garage?! Evan did that!!! Proud wife moment 😍

Also… the to-do list and shopping list for things you never even think about (light fixtures, blinds, door handles…) never ends 😅

But things are moving along… painter should be done by the end of next week, floors are coming soon, and then we finally get to move in!!

And then… I get to focus on my FAVOURITE part:
the nursery 🤍🍼👶🎀

He told me we should go take some maternity photos at the beach in matching outfits… and I thought that was the whole plan 🤍 👼🏼

Perfectly overcast. Not a single person on the beach. Just us.

Then, out of nowhere, a woman happened to walk by and asked if we wanted a photo together. Evan handed her the phone and jokingly told her to have “steady hands” while she records.

Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee asking me to be his forever… at 4:44 pm on February 11 ✨

Somehow the universe timed it all perfectly, and this stranger captured the moment we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. 🥹🤍💍
